Settle a debate - Is this one tattoo or two?

Lighthearted!!

Which person is right?

Person A is tattoo owner and says it’s one single tattoo as it’s of siblings names and was completed in one session.

Person B says they count as two separate small tattoos as there is too much of a gap to be counted as one.

YABU - Person A is correct, it’s one tattoo
YANBU - Person B is correct, it’s two tattoos

Two separate tattoos.

I am confused about how they were done on the same day - they are different sizes. I’d say two tattoos based on that. They don’t match.

They aren’t different sizes. It’s just that Harvey has down strokes and Summa does not. It gives the illusion of being bigger but it isn’t.

I’d say 1 tattoo personally.

I’d also say people on mumsnet are really sniffy about tattoos and names that are Rupert and Saskia. Ignore them.

Floraanddougal · 28/01/2023 21:10

Does that really happen then, folks sit there and say can you post it on mumsnet for me? Like really a?

I took that into account, obviously! 😂😂😂😂

Look more carefully at the second photo and you can see. If you don’t look at the down strokes and the up strokes, but just the body of the letters, in the second photo they look to be different sizes.

What’s so weird about that? We didn’t agree and we’re laughing about it and she said, ‘’I know let’s see what other people think and settle this once and for all’’ 🤣🤣 Why are people so odd about such things things!?

I'd probably count it as one tattoo if it was one of mine (I have 49 tattoos) as it's all part of the same design.

Beezknees · 28/01/2023 21:32

barneshome · 27/01/2023 08:35

Like all tattoos it is cheap and vile

Cheap? I wish. Mine have cost me over 2 grand in total.

LolaSmiles · 28/01/2023 21:32

Two because they're not linked in any way.

Pinball2023 · 28/01/2023 21:37

@Soubriquet to me personally it looks like one piece, but obviously looking at the thread it's open to peoples own discretion 😅

rumship · 28/01/2023 21:40

Two very tacky cheap looking tattoos. I'd be more interested in how I was going to get them removed than if they were two or one.

Names a bit naff too but hey ho takes allsorts I suppose.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/01/2023 21:42

Defo two !

steff13 · 28/01/2023 21:43

Soubriquet · 28/01/2023 20:39

Well now you’ve made me think.

See I’ve got two tattoos but now maybe I haven’t maybe I have more.

Like, would you count this as 1 or 3?

I have a tattoo almost identical to this! Same placement, too. I consider it one, it never occurred to me it might be three.

Awwww! Did that make you feel good? Bless you!

Takes all sorts to come online and try and degrade a stranger you don’t know when the names or whether the tattoos are to your taste or not wasn’t the point of the thread.

Get a grip of yourself 😂😂😂

I love these type of comments, because the people who make them clearly think they're somehow superior and better, when they're actually just snobby arseholes.

Soubriquet · 28/01/2023 21:49

I love it when people say tattoos are cheap and tacky. Go into a tattoo store and enquire as to how much they are. You’ll be flabbergasted.

I bet you do stuff that I personally think is cheap and tacky. Like drinking wine/gin.

It’s sad and pathetic isn’t it.

People like this deserve nothing but pity because they’re clearly very, very insecure.

I'd rather be friends with a genuine, nice person who has a couple of bad tattoos than someone who thinks they're the dog's bollocks and looks down their nose at other people.

To think they are supposed to be adults and probably have children themselves. Makes me sad that their kids will grow up being a horrible person! Like we need more of those.

Two

Pinball2023 · 28/01/2023 21:52

@rumship It's actually (probably) cheaper to have them removed nowadays. I got a tattoo similar to ops Pic but of one name (an ex) during the loving bombing stage early on before the real abuse began 😑I got it removed along with something separate and it was such a fast process! Recommend highly! Although if OP posted this with tattoo owners consent I imagine they like it, I also reckon they probably like their children's name. But hey how how else to spend a Saturday night better than tear people down to build self esteem 🍷

rumship · 28/01/2023 22:32

🤣 say what you like they still look shit.

@rumship What do you get out doing this? Is it worth it? Does it make you feel great about your faults? What do you get out of trying to make other people feel shitty? You sound like a deeply unpleasant person.

Honestly take a good look at yourself.

Pinball2023 · 28/01/2023 22:49

@Thegreatdebate1 Posting a picture of something personal or physical will always attract unpleasant people, especially if it is anonymous. It's almost certainly a way for insecure or unhappy people to get a second of "power" in their mind. I was brought up with the common saying "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all". I think it's all to do with upbringing, which is sad for their children to pick up their mean nature and potentially become a bully

Thegreatdebate1 · 28/01/2023 22:52

@Pinball2023 i 100% agree with you. People can get tattoos removed, it’s a lot harder for a bitter, insecure, nasty piece of work to change themselves.

I know who’d I’d rather be friends with.

What a saddo coming on MN and doing that to get their kicks 🤣

Here’s a better view. Person A says they’re only 8mm apart like a list, and a list would count as one!

In the minority but I'd count it as one tattoo personally.
