Lighthearted!!

Which person is right?

Person A is tattoo owner and says it’s one single tattoo as it’s of siblings names and was completed in one session.

Person B says they count as two separate small tattoos as there is too much of a gap to be counted as one.

YABU - Person A is correct, it’s one tattoo
YANBU - Person B is correct, it’s two tattoos

so it's less than a cm apart on same day? To me that is one tattoo

BarnacleNora · 27/01/2023 03:00

I have matching birds above my hip bones. One on each side. Mirror images of each other, done at the same time, same session, separated (rather neatly) by my c section scar like a little...weird fleshy ribbon they seem to almost be holding in their beaks (they were done many many years before I had my children and I feel very lucky that pregnancy didn't warp them or my emergency c section didn't end up with them being beheaded!)

They're definitely two tattoos because as far as I'm concerned if no ink connects them (or they're not part of a verse or phrase) then they don't count as one single piece of ink. And Harvey and Summa, despite the tape measure, are definitely two separate tattoos 😉

But yeah I'd probably still try and argue for paying the price of one. Or at least 1.5. Some kind of deal anyway, in and out in less than an hour with that and no need to change needles or ink....!

Pinball2023 · 27/01/2023 03:06

@BarnacleNora But ink doesn't join letters together in the tattoo so does each letter become its own entity?.... Also Wear your Csection scar with pride! 2 natural births here and I wouldn't like to have braved major surgery!

BarnacleNora · 27/01/2023 03:11

But if the letters are part of verse or a phrase then that to me is one tattoo. Two names just sort of...floating in isolation, to me, don't count as one tattoo. I've no idea why just as I've no idea why my two birds done at exactly the same time by the same bloke also don't count as one. They're just not 😂

I'm fine with my c section scar. I've had two babies from it (first one an emergency, second one elective but they went through the same scar), I'm just quite pleased that my birds came through it unscathed!

Pinball2023 · 27/01/2023 03:23

@BarnacleNora Fair enough! Well done, honestly a brave thing to go through. For me especially elective knowing it's coming! I've had multiple people around me have csections and it's not a choice I'd pick! (Not because of the scar because of the proceedure) ... I've been 11 stone and 7 st'11 and had a "bicep" tattoo stay the same, they seem to do well lol

ricepuddin · 27/01/2023 04:06

I see it as 1!

StoppinBy · 27/01/2023 04:21

Looks like 2, if I were you I'd get it done up with some sort of design that makes it cohesive.

redspottedmug · 27/01/2023 04:25

It's one, obviously-not least because the owner says it is.

Madamecastafiore · 27/01/2023 05:16

I think she needs to have another child and have its name tattooed in between those names and then it could look like one tattoo!

Could call it Harma or Suvey?

EyebrowChallenge · 27/01/2023 05:41

Two- Harvey and Gummo, lovely.

Thegreatdebate1 · 27/01/2023 05:51

I think it’s a bit unnecessary to be horrible about the names to be honest, the thread wasn’t intended for that purpose. Some people must be so miserable with themselves to feel the need to make sarcastic and horrible, needless judgements about other people like that.

@EyebrowChallenge Oh I couldn't tell before it's been driving Me mad lol TY!🙂someone above said Harvey and summa but summa didn't seem like a real name

custardbear · 27/01/2023 06:20

I'm no tattoo fan so perhaps being a bit miserable here, but it just looks like a reminder list

Stepuptowardsinfinity · 27/01/2023 06:30

Two chavy tattoos.

I'm going against the grain here. I'd say it's one tattoo based on the second picture - they looked further apart on the first.

People saying no ink links the tattoos don't make much sense as you can have a picture tattoo with separate elements.

Do you get a kick out of taking the piss out of people unnecessarily? Sad way to make yourself feel superior, hey? What’s wrong with that name? I’ve seen some way worse names on here, and it wasn’t even the point of the thread. Get a life.

@Thegreatdebate1 I believe the name is foreign and pronounced Summer?

Bakeacaketoday73 · 27/01/2023 07:01

When you look at them properly upside down, "Harvey" is more blurred and in a slightly bigger font. "Summa" is less blurred and in a slightly smaller font.

So definitely done at separate times.

Thegreatdebate1 · 27/01/2023 07:01

I believe it’s a variant of the name ‘Summer’, yes. Some people like @Outtasteamandluck just get their kicks out of feeling clever on online forums 😂

One tattoo for me, same day, same style, same area.

Oysterbabe · 27/01/2023 07:10

They represent 2 people and are 2 tattoos.
If it was

First Name

Last Name

It would be one tattoo.

Pinball2023 · 27/01/2023 07:14

@Thegreatdebate1 Oh thought so..bullies is all I can say.

liveforsummer · 27/01/2023 07:15

Definitely 2 tattoo's especially given the distance apart in relation to the for size and I think 2 names isn't really enough to claim a list. Maybe if a 3rd was added.

XanaduKira · 27/01/2023 07:18

2 tattoos in my opinion.
