Circumcision

SouthAfricanmuminUK · 26/01/2023 18:02

I was thoroughly abused by several English mums of my acquaintance for having my sons circumcised at birth. Although I did my research and found it to be better from a number of perspectives, nothing would convince them it was reasonable. I am wondering if they will retract their accusations now that it has been revealed that Diana, saintliest of all mothers, had both her boys circumcised ...

Does anyone know (read) why Diana did it not being Jewish?

devildeepbluesea · 26/01/2023 19:31

What are you saying OP? That because some posh bint mutilated her kids it’s fine for you to do it?

It doesn’t. It makes you
both guilty of mutilating your children.

Cocobutt · 26/01/2023 19:34

What book is that OP?

Also to the PP you don’t need to be religious to be circumcised, it’s more if a culture thing.

I think the majority of American men are circumcised and they think it’s odd that anyone isn’t.

I’m surprised it is still done on young children as surely if as a man you want it done then you can but I wouldn’t not make an irreversible decision like that for my child unless it was medically needed.

Timeforachangeisitnot · 26/01/2023 19:34

Ok well thanks for answering, but..

My husband is uncircumcised , he’s perfectly clean thanks - well brought up, you see.

Looks better? To whom? His mum ? FFS having seen both ( yes, I am a slut) , it’s more what he does with it, you know?

Helps prevent HPV - but not entirely. Not as well as the vaccine..

HIV - maybe but only when sexually transmitted . I dare say he’d be a tad older before that came up.

And final reason - Diana did it ! Yeah, well she rode around in a fast car without a seatbelt. So no, not a good reason.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 26/01/2023 19:35

She wasn’t saintly in the slightest.

nopuppiesallowed · 26/01/2023 19:37

I think that Charles had his son circumcised...

Notaflippinclue · 26/01/2023 19:38

Women married to circumcised men benefit from less transmission of - studies have shown, reduced risk of human papilloma virus. (cancer of the cervix) genital ulcers, herpes simplex virus type 2, syphillis, bacterial vaginosis, HIV, UTIs, penile cancer in men, not to mention good old cleanliness.

FrippEnos · 26/01/2023 19:40

If the benefits of circumcision are so good and persuasive then why don't you wait until these boys are old enough to make their own decision?

Is it because you know that they wouldn't have it done?

Looking better? Jesus f Christ
Who decides that?
You deciding that your son's penis is going to look better if you cut a price off of it is just beyond strange. I understand there are cultural traditions and rituals but we need to also consider that many of them are cruel and barbaric.

Was the pic in case we don’t know who Diana is?

😂

Barleysugar86 · 26/01/2023 19:44

It's still mutilating babies to me I'm afraid. Only been with two circumcised men but one really didn't have the sensitivity down there you'd expect. I find it hard to believe it doesn't affect things negatively tbh.

sorrynotathome · 26/01/2023 19:45

Your leaflet of “benefits” is laughable - just a lot of statements with no references or evidence. Was that your “research”, OP?

RiceRiceBaby16 · 26/01/2023 19:45

Piece * not price

I do also wonder what year it's from

@RiceRiceBaby16 "Looking better? Jesus f Christ
Who decides that?" A team of TV judges and a telephone voting system maybe. They could call it Cock Idol.

TimeToFlyNow · 26/01/2023 19:50

One of mine had to have it done for medical reasons at 8/9 recovery was awful. I don't know why someone would put a baby through that

thirdtimeluckyorwhat · 26/01/2023 19:51

Why did you tell people

Justgorgeous · 26/01/2023 19:52

Chop your own bits off first! My husband was circumcised when he was 8 for no reason apart from his mum thought it was the ‘done’ thing - he has had a lot of issues through adulthood because of it.

HPV vaccination is making cervical cancer a thing of the past (for the generation young enough to have had the vaccine). Also, it's not cleaner!

None of those are an issue if your husband is not a slut 🤷‍♀️

caringcarer · 26/01/2023 19:54

Any type of mutilation of genitalia is clearly abuse. Leave the babies alone. If they want it done they can choose for themselves when they are old enough. If it is medically necessary this is rare.

Or just wears a condom and gets his HPV vaccine.

NewUserName134 · 26/01/2023 19:57

Just Diana?

Charles had nothing to do with it and only found out afterwards?

Notaflippinclue · 26/01/2023 19:58

They are just scientific facts - take it or leave it
