She has a Gucci belt, but lives with her parents

New mum in the mums group, seems a bit up her own bum about designer labels and clothes etc. She’s often a bit sneery and definitely does that withering looking you up and down type of thing.
Her, m her Dh and kids, live with her parents in a big house, she dives their spare Land-rover car and they pay her dc’s school fees.
Aibu to think she’s got a bit of a nerve to act high and mighty when none of it is her money and the rest of us earn money to pay our own mortgages, bills and cars and therefore maybe don’t own a Gucci belt 🙈😅

If youve noticed her gucci belt then you must have been looking at her waist. So maybe she thinks you're looking her up and down.

Living as an extended family and so reducing costs (usually to the benefit of everyone concerned) no more means she doesn't own her own belt than any other SAHM without her own earnings, who drives a car someone else paid for, doesn't own her possessions.
Similarly GPs choosing to invest in their GC education is no greater financial dependency that a gifted deposit from your parents or an inheritance. Its all benefitting from someone else's money.
Her sneery attitude is the reason to avoid her. Its unpleasant. But her living arrangements don't make it worse, and you're in danger of showing the same faults yourself for sneering at her. Also of criticising a living model that for many people is cultural and involves reciprocality you may be unaware of.

Whatever the reason, you are being very judgmental of her and it seems to be entirely based on how you perceive she looks at you. I bet if you actually struck up a conversation with her she'd be nice.

I would judge her for having a tacky Gucci branded one- they're too ubiquitous. Far better to have something more understated like Hermes or Cartier Grin

So let me get this right, you’re annoyed at her looking you up and down which you think is rude and judgemental but you’re also annoyed about her Gucci belt, which you would only have noticed if you looked her up and down too? But it’s bad when she does it?

If you think she’s rude and behaves badly, fine. You absolutely don’t have to like her. Avoid her.

But there’s a chronic lack of self-awareness when you call her ‘sneery’ and proceed to sneer at her living with her parents and driving their ‘spare land rover’. 😆

I‘d rather like living in a huge gaff with my whole family, with money falling out of our ears and Gucci belts for everyone. Seems rather convivial. But I like my family and would be very happy with a ‘full Downton’ living set up.
