Boys don't wipe after peeing?

HeartofAss · 22/01/2023 16:04

My 6yo just confidently informed me that girls wipe when they wee or poo, whereas boys only wipe when they poo.

Is this true? GROSS.

Not sure whether I should be telling him he is wrong?

@thesnailandthewhale I've had many a bush wee and I guess it's the same for women too, you do a wee dance/shake and worry about it later

Bemyclementine · 22/01/2023 16:29

I've taught mine to wipe. Or dab. I hadnt really considered urinals.

madeyemoody · 22/01/2023 16:31

This post is eye opening for me, i might be adopting a boy and wouldn't know the first thing about toilet habits for boys...the more you know I guess. Definitely going to introduce the wipe if (if they are at a area with toilet paper)

I asked my brother once what do boys do at the end of a wee to stop dribbles. He he said "basically, you know that thing you do to toothpaste to get the last bit out..we do that"

@madeyemoody Suck it?

mamacattiva · 22/01/2023 16:33

Mine have always sat down to pee, then rinse with water and dry with toilet paper.

Zwicky · 22/01/2023 16:33

It’s why old men have a pocket handkerchief

piliomachaon · 22/01/2023 16:36

Interesting topic to get other posters talking about their children's toileting habits.

Topseyt123 · 22/01/2023 16:36

Most of them just give it a shake! Have you only just realised this?

They also use urinals in public toilets, where it is not possible to use toilet paper. Giving their todgers a shake is the norm.

Doesn't bother me so long as they don't shower the place with piss.

MickeyMouseShithouse · 22/01/2023 16:37

While we’re on the subject of women not wiping their pissy willys.. I don’t understand why a lot women don’t bat an eyelid at blowjobs?!

unless fresh out of the shower and hasn’t been for a wee before bed.. but.. any other time? What if they’ve just been for a wee, or even an hour later.. dried wee on their willys is not my idea of a canapé.

Hallyup14 · 22/01/2023 16:37

Did you not see what the appendage you came into contact with, to have said child, did?

MickeyMouseShithouse · 22/01/2023 16:37

I meant men.. although I should probably just say people!

ShelaghsCottage · 22/01/2023 16:38

I think that whether or not a man is circumcised has a lot to do with the amount of mess they make in the lavvy...

What roll it up from the end with a little key?? ConfusedConfusedGrin

RaininSummer · 22/01/2023 16:20

Not got boys so never thought about this. Surely it leaves damp patches in the underwear?

Yep

ShelaghsCottage · 22/01/2023 16:40

@QueSyrahSyrah What roll it up from the end with a little key?

😂😂

MickeyMouseShithouse · 22/01/2023 16:41

Or scrape it down the side of the sink with firm pressure?

How so? Just asking

ShelaghsCottage · 22/01/2023 16:50

@NoNameNowAgain
Hmm, trying not to be indelicate but uncircumcised men seem to have a problem adjusting their foreskins so the aim can be a bit wacky.
Also drips of urine can be retained behind the foreskins to be released later...

beachcitygirl · 22/01/2023 16:51

Never ever ever understood why anyone teaches their little boys to pee standing up, making a mess, shaking it etc.
Why on earth don't you train them to sit down & wipe? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Is it really just to follow social norms?

DixonD · 22/01/2023 16:51

PeachDelany · 22/01/2023 16:14

I never realised this! I now understand the drips everywhere..

How on earth can anyone NOT know this? 🤣

Couldyounot · 22/01/2023 16:53

Tell me you have no idea how male genitalia works without telling me etc etc

oakleaffy · 22/01/2023 16:53

A man I know was circumcised via choice as a young adult.
He says circumcision stops all spray and drips, and is uber neat.

He says the foreskin is like a sleeve that retains wee drops.

It was interesting to hear .

sanityisamyth · 22/01/2023 16:55

My DS didn't wipe and ended up on the children's ward with a doctor examining his penis as he kept complaining it was sore. The doctor said he needs to pull back the foreskin wipe every time he goes otherwise it just stays damp underneath. Lesson learned the hard way!

If the todger is too long, it touches the porcelain, or worse, the water.

But yes, sitting down is much neater for boys.

Pinkdafodils · 22/01/2023 16:55

When men nip off for a pee behind a bush etc when they're out there is no toilet paper around?

Nor do women, so no one can wipe in those exceptional circumstances. There is thankfully loo roll at home!
