Mine is set that it comes on if it drops below 13.

What's yours set at?

The heating is never on overnight here.

Hollyhead · 16/01/2023 21:17

@SchoolQuestionnaire it’s not competitive under heating if you can’t sleep in a hot room. We accidentally had our thermostat set to 19 today and our house was unbearable to me for an hour or so. There’s no way I could sleep in a room that was above 18.

LindorDoubleChoc · 16/01/2023 21:17

We have never ever had the heating on overnight. We do live in the softy south of England mind you, but it wouldn't occur to me to have any heating on at all overnight. This is what duvets and blankets are for.

Now that we're being frugal we have it on from 5pm to 9pm and one hour in the morning.

userxx · 16/01/2023 21:17

It's off overnight and the bedroom window is open. I need the cold air to sleep.

Changemaname1 · 16/01/2023 21:18

Off !

Actionfilm · 16/01/2023 21:19

We have never set ours at to be on overnight even when heat was cheap.

CallipyJean · 16/01/2023 21:20

Ours is set to 13 degrees; I guess it will click on a couple of times overnight tonight as it’s freezing out

I wouldn’t mind it being lower but it’s a big old house and would take way too long to heat up in the morning if it was off overnight. I do turn it off in the day if it’s just me at home working and then put it back on as everyone comes back in the evening

PaperMonster · 16/01/2023 21:20

Heating not on overnight at all. Barely on during the day!!

whataboutsecondbreakfast · 16/01/2023 21:20

Ours is off overnight.

I wake up feeling really unwell if I accidentally fall asleep with the heating on.

WhereIsMumHiding3 · 16/01/2023 21:21

I overheat in bed and often have to put a temperature control foot out from my quilt (ie one that lets my body temperature drop a bit) when our house is above 15'c during the night...!

Even my teenagers do this now- (the leg out of duvet...)- that tucks back in as it gets colder or that is the start of quilt redeployment (off of more of their body) as it gets above 16'C ...

We really don't like a hot house at all. I can barely stay inside at some of my friends houses who have the thermostat set to 22 C or above ... And I just can't sleep in a house that has heating on overnight... Confused

But then I sleep in pjs and have blankets on top of my quilt .. love w Cole pillow to lay down on and love the heat that gets generated under the quilt / blanket combo. I sleep so incredibly well. None of my friends who have hot houses or heating on overnight sleep at all well...

NEmama · 16/01/2023 21:21

Off overnight. Timer set so starts an hour before alarm goes off

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/01/2023 21:21

Off overnight

Yarrawonga · 16/01/2023 21:21

7 degrees for frost protection. It’s never come on.

YourWinter · 16/01/2023 21:21

Mine’s usually not on at all, night or day, unless it’s going below 0 outside and I’m worried pipes might freeze.

Bowbellsx · 16/01/2023 21:22

Off through the night I’m not lord sugar 😂

LindorDoubleChoc · 16/01/2023 21:23

Yes, if the heating is accidentally left on overnight here, I have a really restless night and wake up feeling groggy, stuffy and hungover.

Different strokes for different folks! Although the non night heaters are in the vast majority on this thread.

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/01/2023 21:23

My heating is off 24/7 at present.

Doesn’t that cause issues with damp/mould?

StellaGibson2022 · 16/01/2023 21:03

19 overnight. I’m in bed and my feet are still freezing with the 15 tog duvet. Cold snap took me by surprise today

You need a hot water bottle!

Snugglemonkey · 16/01/2023 21:27

Hollyhead · 16/01/2023 21:02

12, it never comes on. Unless you have respiratory issues no one needs heating on overnight. I wear a jumper to bed when it’s cold with 2 blankets it’s lovely.

I live in Scotland and have a very young baby. If we did not have the heat on it would be irresponsible.

ofwarren · 16/01/2023 21:27

Off overnight, even if it's frosty.
I detest a warm bedroom.
I go to bed with long sleeves and trousers, under a heavy duvet.
If it's particularly cold, I might put on some socks and a jumper or get put the hot water bottle.
The radiators on at might make me feel ill.

LetsDoThis2023 · 16/01/2023 21:28

Off. All night.

WhereIsMumHiding3 · 16/01/2023 21:28

@StellaGibson2022

Get a kings size blanket (you can get thermal fluffy velvet ones for £15) ans put it over your duvet , if you've a double or single it'll hang down the sides

You can put another blanket underneath on top of your quilt too. Wears PJs Those extra layers trap warm air being hates by your body under the quilt. It becomes so toasty warm that you'll sleep like a (sleepy) baby!
