Has anyone played this on PC? I've heard it has framerate issues.

That depends on your PC spec though surely?

Im playing on my steam deck which does have drops during battles but I tweaked the settings and it’s much nicer now.

Im pretty sure though that my super powered desktop PC wouldn’t struggle and I think they patched the shade issue that caused it anyway?

I'm playing on PC with no issues, running it with ultra graphics and ray tracing!
We do have a very decent gaming PC though, with an RTX3060 graphics card.

I have complained about this article on the BBC as I feel it is totally unbalanced. Voices of trans activists but nothing from the other side.

That's good to hear, I have a 3070 but have heard performance isn't great on NVIDIA cards. It does look fun, but I don't really have a lot of free time right now 🙁I'll probably wait a year or so until they bring out a complete edition with all the DLC.

BBC et al seem desperate to portray it as a major issue. Headline I saw this morning "Hogwarts Legacy game releases as online debate rage on"

Hogwarts Legacy had half a million viewers on Twitch at 7pm. There's no debate.

Apparently the issue is that the game uses a ridiculous amount of VRAM, and the 2070 has less than the 2060. Hopefully it'll be patched at some point.

'Trans activist Eva Echo feels it's important for people to understand the strength of feeling in the LGBTQ+ community. "By buying the game you're sending a clear message that it's taking priority over the lives of trans people," she said.
Boycotting it "will allow us to send a very clear message that we won't stand by this and allow JK Rowling to have an even bigger platform", she added.'

Firstly, I don't think there's any way JKR could have a bigger platform. She's one of the most famous people on Earth, no amount of boycotting or book burning can change that now. They're publicising her views if anything.

But more importantly, the kind of hyperbole this person is using really undermines the point they are trying to make. It would be far more relatable to say 'I feel really hurt by things JKR has said and this is why' but instead they've gone down the route of the game is more important than the lives of trans people/denying our existence/literal violence type rhetoric. And all it does is turn people off, because it is so dramatic and it doesn't come from a real place. They're just SM sound bites.

once you start playing you just won’t give a shit about the spoilers. The game is fantastic and the storyline just isn’t the be all and end all of the game
