I've never met a real daily mail reader. How awful for you. Maybe there's a help group for DM reader families?

Rosa - quite right you are to look shifty. If DH REALLY needs it for work he could read it on the internet and you could stop handing over your hard-earned cash to this evil publication .

sagacious · 05/02/2008 13:39

Support group would have to be under cover of darkness, and then I'd have to leave the children with him

It won't work I tell you
It just won't work

NOW I'M BEING SERIOUS. WHAT DO YOU ALL OBJECT TO? I would really like a proper answer. I suspect it's because it's a right wing thing?

onebatmother · 05/02/2008 13:52

It sounds to me as though you've already made your decision S. Please feel free to email me at onebat @ stopmailabuse dot co dot uk, without the gaps.

I can put you in touch with people who can help you.

duchesse · 05/02/2008 13:53

curly- I'm suspecting the unsubstantiated, skewed and simplistic arguments generally in favour of right-wing solutions to extremely complex problems might just have something to do with it. That and the fact seems to be the mouthpiece for the bunch of fascist thugs that is the BNP.

onebatmother · 05/02/2008 13:53

yes cww, and a thick thing.

moljam · 05/02/2008 13:53

im so sorry.

curlywurlywee · 05/02/2008 13:54

(mumbles to herself) Good job I'm not a Sun Reader. Perhaps Mumsnet Towers should vet everyone before they are given a password to the site. Do you stand accused of reading the Daily Mail or other such common, spurious publications?

curlywurlywee · 05/02/2008 13:56

Duchesse - you're so posh - no wonder I read the Daily Mail. BNP? That can't be right, I know some of the views are a bit out there but BNP?

oh NO

you will soon start talking about "self-confessed lesbians" with a face like

Artichokes · 05/02/2008 13:58

Its not just its right wing politics Curly. It is the unrelenting negativity. The way it makes you believe that everything is so dangerous and morally corrupt. The way it portrays all women in positions of power as inept and stupid. The way it makes you beleive that everything is black and white and never acknowledges the complexities of an argument.

Good lord no Curlywurly! unless you read the DM?

curlywurlywee · 05/02/2008 14:00

MFG surprisingly enough for you I do understand those terms.

Do you know what - I think you're a bunch of elitist snobs who don't understand anyone else's point of view.

Today's Daily Mail Poll:

Should council house tenants get a job or lose their homes?

Yes - 82%
No - 18%

onebatmother · 05/02/2008 14:01

not elitist snobs! I want to welcome everyone into my world of non-retarded newspaper-reading, cww

morningpaper · 05/02/2008 14:02

Today's LITTLEJOHN: NOW THEY WANT TO BAN MUMS AND DADS

What gives a leading gay campaigner the right to shove his prejudices down our throat?

"Schools are being ordered to drop the term "mum and dad" in case it offends pupils from a single-parent, homosexual or turkey-baster "family.""

curlywurlywee · 05/02/2008 14:04

I don't like your sarcasm and that's not just about the Daily Mail. I now feel as though I am indeed thick because I wasn't aware of the views that some of you have expressed on here. Does that make me less of a person or deserving of your horrible derision. Can't someone take me seriously here. I feel quite upset but I suppose you'll just laugh at me for being a pathetic weak woman.

PeatBog · 05/02/2008 14:04

oh My dh reads the DTel. Do you think it's a [gulp] slippery slope?

curlywurlywee · 05/02/2008 14:05

Morning Paper - and your point is?
