To Feel Sad About Lisa Marie Presley?

JustForABitofFun · 13/01/2023 00:48

The newspapers are reporting that she has been rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive at home and having suffered a possible heart attack.

This makes me feel so sad. She has had a tough life with the suicide of her son a few years ago!

It's weird how people think the money shield changes your human emotions and that loosing a parent to a horrific car accident is lesser or loosing a dad like she did is lesser..

XelaM · 13/01/2023 01:37

This.

Sole as the sole heiress to Elvis Presley's estate, she's had about as tough a life as Prince Harry... 🤨

I would say losing your mum as a child is very very hard. Probably the worst thing anyone can experience, except the loss of a child. Changes you irrevocably. So I think maybe Harry and Lisa Marie have both had very hard lives. Money doesn't make the pain of these things any less.

I don’t know much about her tbh, other than she’s the daughter of Elvis. One thing I do know though, is that money doesn’t make people happy. It’s quite sad how many people think that people with money shouldn’t ever be depressed. Most of us live our lives thinking that once we have more money, that career, that house, that car etc etc we will be more happy. Imagine having all that and more and finding you still feel unfulfilled. Where do you go next?

Money doesn’t make you happy, but it makes life a lot easier. Being miserable rich, or being miserable poor…I know which I would choose!

SilliusSoddus · 13/01/2023 06:53

Her money didn't help her. I suspect it harmed her, along with the fame.

I feel sorry for her. She doesn't appear to have had a particularly happy life and having Elivis as a relative looks to be one hell of a burden, to me.

Tessisme · 13/01/2023 06:56

Very sorry to hear this. I think it's best to ignore the comments about her wealth somehow negating the tragedy in her life. Some people on this forum are just cold from the inside out.

The father of her twins went to court twice to try and get full custody given her drug and alcohol use and the presence of accessible guns in her house. The judge ruled that the benefits of them spending time with their mother was greater than the risks of her personal issues and kept custody 50/50. I think those twins have already been through a lot. Divorce, shared custody, her drug and alcohol abuse, their brother dying, them moving to live with her 1st husband etc. Hopefully now they will have a little more stability while grieving their mother.

Didn’t she originally accuse him of having indecent images and videos of children & of being a pedophile?

FairyLightAddict · 13/01/2023 07:03

Very sad. 54 is no age. She wrote an article about losing her son and her guilt was unbearable.

Coffeecreme · 13/01/2023 07:04

january is a tough time of year

Riverlee · 13/01/2023 07:05

Lisa Marie Presley lived in East Sussex for a while. I remember thinking then it was good she was leading a normal life, away from the showbiz life in America.

Sorry to hear she’s died.

Coffeecreme · 13/01/2023 07:05

we dont know she intended to but i did read she struggled with addiction
so money for drugs is not a good combination.

musingsinmidlife · 13/01/2023 07:08

TulaDoesTheHula · 13/01/2023 07:01

She did but it was investigated and deemed to be unfounded and a false accusation.

LlynTegid · 13/01/2023 07:08

@FairyLightAddict agree, thoughts for those who mourn her early death.

Coffeecreme · 13/01/2023 07:09

she lived in east sussex for 6 years which i only found out recently after watching the Elvis last weekend.

AnuSTart · 13/01/2023 07:18

My friend went to school with her and told me years ago how genuinely nice she was (apart from the Scientology business).
I must check in. I think this also brings to light that we (my friend and I) are getting to an age where it is not beyond the realms of normal to die, which is scary.

Poor family.

It never surprised me that she and MJ. were...choosing my words carefully... friends. They were probably the only people who understood the other, who understood what it was to have as far from a normal childhood as its possible to get.

There is a reason that many "child stars" dont make it to full adulthood and those that do are FUBAR.

She never stood a chance.

Totally agree with this.

So sad about Lisa Marie.

Another victim of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome? I'm sure it's just a coincidence - because everything is, these days.

You are an idiot.

Poor Lisa Marie. I'm not surprised she did die of a heart attack tbh, her father did and her grandmother. The grief she must have felt after loosing her son would have put a strain on her body for sure.

Penguinsaregreat · 13/01/2023 07:22

How very sad.
Im also of the opinion that losing your father at a very young age with the entire world speculating about them and then losing a child is no pleasure cruise. No amount of money would heal that pain for me.
RIP.

Coffeecreme · 13/01/2023 07:24

and her son as well
i didnt know about him until recently Sad

Money doesn’t make you happy, but it makes life a lot easier. Being miserable rich, or being miserable poor…I know which I would choose!

So why did you give up all your money then if you’d prefer to be miserable with money. I mean in order for you to know that it’s better to be miserable, have a son kill himself, lose a parent as a child, battle addiction with money than without you must have experienced this first hand, no? No, didn’t think so.

People who believe that money makes everything better are bitter, unpleasant, shallow people with no idea about what actual life is about other than that they are envious of others’ wealth and would rather have tragedy and money than no money…

I agree

BCBird · 13/01/2023 07:29

My sympathies to.her family and loved ones. As someone who.lost a parent young and is being battered by bereavement due to the suicide of a much loved partner I can honestly.say it is a solute torture and I can have my privacy. Poor thing.

irrespective of the potential cause of death here, you do know that sudden adult death syndrome is real don’t you? And usually happens as a result of an undiagnosed cardiomyopathy?

Go and educate yourself!

Remona · 13/01/2023 07:30

Terribly sad. I couldn’t believe it when I just saw it on the BBC news website and I shed a tear I must admit. 54 is no age.

RIP Lisa Marie.

Coffeecreme · 13/01/2023 07:33

i think she had a special place in many of our hearts

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 13/01/2023 07:33

She’s not dead though.

She is now. Such a shame and too young.
