For me it’s Alan Rickman (who I absolutely love in everything else) as Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility. He came across so unbelievably creepy and repulsive and not the gallant kind soul he is in the book.

Johnny Depp as the Lone Ranger

Tonto?

That handsome BDSM cannibal was the LR

Sorry - meant IN the Lone Ranger!

VisaGeezer · 07/01/2023 00:19

Why did they have to make Bingham/Bingley I to such a buffoon in that production?

Sorry - meant IN the Lone Ranger!

It was basically "I'll do jack sparrow again but with a crow on my head".

Nordstrom · 07/01/2023 00:20

Anne Hathaway. That's it.

Anne Hathaway. That's it.

Irritated me in everything except the Batman movie.

MeghanThyStallion · 07/01/2023 00:21

Nicholas Cage in Déjà Vu. He looked like a dirty old man - utterly unbelievable that the female lead would fancy him. It might be the hair & makeup department's fault though because all I could think was that he needed a haircut and a wash.

Emma Thompson in Sense & Sensibility. Brilliant actress but Elinor's supposed to be a teenager.

Exactly! That comment cracked me up.

IcakethereforeIam · 07/01/2023 00:23

Keane Reeves in Constantine. He seems a lovely bloke but a blond scouser he is not.

Nicholas Cage in the first Ghost Rider movie, though it's possibly just a dreadful film. Not seen the second with him in it but i hear it's bad.

Depp was awful as Wonka.

Jack Black in everything except School of Rock.

MyView2 · 07/01/2023 00:25

John Hannah as Inspector Rebus. I like him but he’s not Rebus. The guy who plays Julia’s husband in Motherland, too young and better suited as a cheeky younger brother. Robert Carlyle as Begbie in Trainspotting, great actor but not the Begbie in my head from reading the book, too wee and skinny.

howmuchistoomuch2021 · 07/01/2023 00:25

Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross in Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider.

Grossly miscast! Morgan Freeman was far too old to play Alex Cross. Whilst I generally do enjoy Morgan Freeman as an actor, I would have liked to see someone sexier in that role.

He was very good in Gilbert Grape.

Indeed he was.

She’s great in We Crashed, in which her job is to be intensely irritating. And she is!

WetBandits · 07/01/2023 00:33

Bailey Madison as Young Snow in Once Upon A Time, can’t bear her miserable face 😂

Sinthie · 07/01/2023 00:38

Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages

AnImaginaryCat · 07/01/2023 00:40

Jonathan Ryce Myers as Henry VIII in the Tudors

Old one but I'm still not over it. Too dainty for the role and thought roaring his lines showed the character had power.

RobertaFirmino · 07/01/2023 00:42

Fully agree about Keanu as John Constantine, Tom Cruise as Reacher (who I always imagined would look like Sean Bean!) and Zellweger as Bridget Jones. I always thought Letitia Dean (Sharon in Eastenders) would have made a fab Bridget.

AnImaginaryCat · 07/01/2023 00:43

Ok, make that Rhys Myers instead. 😃

Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages

Really? That’s the only thing I’ve ever liked him in, apart from Born on the Fourth of July. He was just camp enough in Rock of Ages.

Mothership4two · 07/01/2023 00:49

Another vote for Nicholas Cage in Captain Corelli’s Mandolin - totally miscast.

Also pretty much anyone playing the young Queen Victoria ie Emily Blunt orJenna Coleman. Always far too attractive. She was plain with an overbite not some pretty bright young thing. Her eligibility was her power not her looks.

Mothership4two · 07/01/2023 00:50

in her power

Flaunch · 07/01/2023 00:55

Tom Holland as Nathan Drake in Uncharted. I can’t understand how they ever imagined it would work 😵‍💫

NRCOA · 07/01/2023 01:00

Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia.

Dreadful.

Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet

Yes!

YesYesAllGood · 07/01/2023 01:03

Tom Burke in Strike. Too good-looking, slim and pleasant. 😆

BellaCiao1 · 07/01/2023 01:04

Natalia Tena as Rebecca Vardy. Awful
