I stopped watching it when the contestants became more TOWIE types, selected not for their business acumen but for their appearance, men & women. Ruth Badger, an old contestant, would not stand a chance now. The women frequently have sweet shops, cupcake shops, hair & beauty businesses, rare to have a female with an IT or engineering business. Their businesses tend to be tiny and usually going nowhere. The only episode I watch is when Claude rips apart their falsified business plans and exposes all their lies. The strange thing is that Sugar ignores their falsehoods and still chooses one of them.

Because it is probably scripted, like most "reality" shows.

But does it actually make them feel better about themselves? I mean, they put themselves through all that pain (and those shoes must be very painful) to come out looking mostly like clones of each other, and it won't actually help them to win or even to be seen as credible businesswomen.

It used to be good when the contestants were a bit older and actually had an ounce of common sense and good business ideas.

I just hate how The Apprentice puts across female business women time and time again. Looks to one side the perceived behaviour is worse, the endless focus on bickering, bitching, someone who disagrees being called disruptive, uh it's just such an insulting stereotype churned out every year.

It’s because they are hoping for a media career if they aren’t picked as Sir Alans Apprentice. So they think they have to look a certain way to be picked for other shows.

Absolutely detest the pouty lip filler look it just screams desperation to me and is not attractive IMHO

Not London but since covid and hybrid working high heels are much rarer in my office, except low heeled boots over winter. Much more likely to see trainers.

I noticed this. Me and DP chose three each in the first five minutes so we can have a little competition. I chose the three girls without fat lips - light pink, dark pink and blue their names were. I still didn't need to figure out their names when they were plodding around the beach in the exact same clothes. I've kept my full set of normal lipped females for the first round, long may it continue.

Whereas the males they've chosen have a a complete mix - nerd, quiet, arrogant etc. when was the last time eg a waify girl with no make up and glasses, and flats on there?
