Why do they have to be plastered with make up and have those funny inflated lips. Even Karen Brady is caked on.

They are obviously styled by the show producers. But it would put off many great business woman from going on the show.

Some expensive dental work very noticeable in both sexes.
I was fascinated by the lips, especially with the bright red lippy. They looked so...juicy!

I’m watching now. Loads of the women don’t have lip fillers! 4 or 5 do and some have gone a bit overboard I agree.

I think Karen looks lovely. Lord S is still rocking the stubble I see 🤨

This look, talking in general not specifically about the women on the show, seems to be a very masculine version of hyper-femininity. If standard make up is meant to suggest sexual arousal eg res lips, big eyes, flushed cheeks, this filled, noticed, orange fakery is more reminiscent of some sort of sex doll.

I hate seeing young women covering their natural fresh looks with orange and black goo.

For me, it's the dark brown, brushed up (or tattoo?) eye brows and fake blonde hair that annoys me. Along with the immaculately shaved beards that are shaped into mm's of preened facial hair.

It's gone downhill.

Before it was about true business acrimen. Now a lot of the contestants use it as a stepping stone before going on Celebs Go Dating and other similar shows.

I don't think I'll be watching.

Alan told them they can’t offend someone going in too low for a price. Both teams were saying things about not disrespecting the seller. I’m sure there was an episode last time where they were criticised for exactly that! Taking the piss going in too low.

The women look ridiculous on the whole. The programme is a comedy show now but for all the wrong reasons. It is tragic to focus on their looks so much but unavoidable when it is so in your face and what the young women themselves have focussed on. They would all look lovely without all the lip puffers, weird eyebrows and contouring.

TBH, some of my friends don't watch it as it reminds them too much of their office environment.

This has got to be the producers of the show insisting on this type of look right? I just can't imagine in real life these women would choose to wear these clothes as others have pointed out, they would look so dated in the real business world? It just makes the show look old, tired and out of touch I think.

I have an idea if I were to produce the next series…
You get to the bit in the first episode where they’re all looking at their feet trying not to be PM.
Then Alan announces that he’s looking for people who can lead, who have courage and who believe in themselves.
So all but the 3-4 that put themselves forward get replaced in a shock move before the task even starts.
You could only pull it once… but it would be fun!

it’s absolutely terrifying that this is what we think women need to look like to succeed in business! I mean 😱 WTAF.

starting at the top: must be blonde. Hair must be long. Forehead must be botoxed. Eyebrows must have caterpillars on them. Eyes must have false eyelashes. Nose jobs? Lips must have fillers and not close to show.. teeth must have been whitened/veneers.

Assuming a fair smattering of boob jobs too.

aside from the sheer ££££ required it’s just …..
I give up…

is there an age and weight limit on applications? It would be interesting to do a FOI request on selection criteria. The producers need a kick ip the arse

I thought they looked really dated. The one that looked best was the one who dared to have her hair in a bob. So sick of Barbie look hair, fat, wet lips and brown skid marked cheeks.

I read somewhere last week that someone said the new cast were almost straight from
The love island selection box
They are all hugely glamorous , Rochelle runs a really successful beauty business in Milton Keynes so she's obv very glam
I do think the look is still very much lip filler , and strong brows and lashes amongst young women , contoured make up and long bouncy hair

My boss does contouring and she looks amazing on Teams calls. In real
life you can see it’s just make up though.

I wonder if they have make up artists or do their own make up

Thing is they all seem alright underneath all the slap and spray on dresses. Surely pencil dresses and heels are so dated now. I work in London and you never see anyone dressed like that. Well you do they are just usually guys (sorry).

when the lady on the boat was telling them what’s what I found myself wishing the contestants were a bit more real like her.

it’d be so refreshing to have a few women on the show that could be your sister or your best mate. I.E natural down to earth types who spend more time on their sense of humours than their looks.
