Right hand Wedding ring finger bruise

Would you be worried about a bruise on a ring hand wedding ring finger? My friend is in a long distance relationship with a guy and she’s upset over a bruise on his left hand wedding ring. She hasn’t confronted him about it but says it’s on the opposite hand to what British people wear.

Shes stayed at his house and been seeing him for a while. Bit too early to meet his family.

Any thoughts? He’s Swedish.

You don’t get a bruise in the exact shape and size as a wedding ring though! A wedding ring wouldn’t cause a bruise.

You and your "friend" both have Achenbach Syndrome so can rule that out as a cause? Well that's convenient isn't it?

Is it not common?

It’s not even on his ring finger!!

Yutes · 03/01/2023 21:05

Man has bruise on right hand ring finger.

I don’t really think this is much to be suspicious of. Hmm

Lilliflip · 03/01/2023 21:06

I’ve currently got a bruise from knocking my hand in a dumbbell at the gym. It’s not on my palm although I guess it’s not beyond the realms of possibility 🤷‍♀️

oioimatey · 03/01/2023 21:06

Swedes wear their wedding bands on their ring finger on their left hand.

I normally enjoy a troll thread but this is a waste of time and resources.

JustAnotherManicMomday · 03/01/2023 21:08

In England we wear wedding rings on the left, in some other countries in Europe such as Poland, they wear their wedding ring on the right hand.

In Sweden, it is traditionally worn on the left.

Giveaschitt · 03/01/2023 21:09

I weightlift, sonetimes wearing my wedding ring. It's never caused a bruise, I don't even see how it could?! It has caused calluses before, but only when deadlifting..

A quick Google says achenbach syndrome is very rare BTW so incredible that both you and your sister have it!

Ok thanks. She’s now saying she was looking at his hand and looks like he has had a finger on it…. But mind may be playing tricks

I think you need to take a breath and start again. What are you even trying to say? I'd be concerned if his hands didn't have fingers...

What does Poland have to do with it though?? 😂

BertaHoon · 03/01/2023 21:13

So...

She's in a long term relationship with a rare syndrome that causes bruising but she's noticed that some guy she has or hasn't met may have a bruise somewhere on his palm. This may or may not be due to a medical condition or weightlifting.

Huh.

Who knew?

Dryandirriatble · 03/01/2023 21:13

Friend is clearly picking up that something isn't right because otherwise, on seeing a bruise, you'd say "how did you manage that?" There's a reason she hasn't asked.

The posts are difficult to follow but as is so often said on MN, if it doesn't feel right, it's not right.

DrFoxtrot · 03/01/2023 21:14

I get Achenbach bruises, as does my sister. It's probably more common than we think as a lot of people don't bother to report it. I'm not sure how you can tell that his bruise wasn't that?

OrlaCarmichael · 03/01/2023 21:15

Wedding rings worn on right hand in Germany too, didn’t know that about Poland misses point of theead

RewildingAmbridge · 03/01/2023 21:17

OP are you a non native speaker of English? I think people are being a bit rude if so.
When you say bruise, do you mean a bruise or another kind of mark? You don't get bruises from washing your hands regardless of the metal a ring is made of.

English isn’t my first language I’m Persian.

We thought maybe it was from the metal of a ring (not a bruise but a mark) but it wouldn’t make sense to come of the side of the hand which isn’t washed often

I really don't understand this.

fajitaaaa · 03/01/2023 21:25

Oh! Discolouration!

I see. Maybe it's a bit of gym equipment? I think as not wedding finger hand it's nothing to worry about.

She's going to have to ask to find out I think.

P.s. I just posted on your other thread about your date with the cold man! Small world!

It could also be a callous, I used to get them lifting certain weights and when I rowed at uni

HereIfYouNeedMe · 03/01/2023 21:33

I haven't laughed this much at a thread for ages 😂

Vallmo47 · 03/01/2023 21:34

You’re Persian but you said your friend is Swedish, you then said it’s actually your sister. I’m Swedish so could answer your question in Swedish if you like.

KarmaStar · 03/01/2023 21:34

And? This is nonsensical.
