Right hand Wedding ring finger bruise

Would you be worried about a bruise on a ring hand wedding ring finger? My friend is in a long distance relationship with a guy and she’s upset over a bruise on his left hand wedding ring. She hasn’t confronted him about it but says it’s on the opposite hand to what British people wear.

Shes stayed at his house and been seeing him for a while. Bit too early to meet his family.

Any thoughts? He’s Swedish.

She’s in a long term relationship and thinks he could be wearing a wedding ring. He works out so could have got a bruise from bench press?

she’s known him for a while but only recently got into a relationship with him.

She’s in a long term relationship but has only recently got together with him?

she has a few kids and known him for a while, so been busy.

What? It’s really hard to follow some of your posts.

catandcoffee · 03/01/2023 20:45

I'm really confused with this thread.

Are you saying this man has a mark/bruise on his finger .... the finger you normally wear a ring on ?

Are you implying he's removed the alleged wedding ring ?

WorriedWarrier · 03/01/2023 20:48

She’s got kids and known him for a number of years. She is busy with life and recently started to date him romantically (they know each other via a hobby).

She meet him and saw the bruise. She’s not in a position to meet his family yet/friends and his Facebook is sparse.

It’s on the palm side of the hand, but on the ring finger (but opposite hand).

I get bruises on my fingers. The veins burst for no good reason. I think it's called aschenbach syndrome. Get her to look up images, see if that's the kind of bruise.

365names · 03/01/2023 20:51

She needs to ask him on a video call - and guard herself.

swapcicles · 03/01/2023 20:51

Why would a wedding ring cause a bruise?
Indentations and tan lines sure but a bruise?

Good shout! She could ask if he has this?

fajitaaaa · 03/01/2023 20:53

When is she seeing him next? If its a while then the bruise will heal a bit? And if not then something is up!

From weight lifting?

?? I've worn my ring for 7 years and never bruised. Huge indentation, could never hide it. You and your friend are batshit!

We both get this and it’s not that. She’s convinced it’s the same size as a wedding ring (or ring) and the same shape. It’s not just a bruise, it’s one that micks a ring.

I checked and it is the left hand in Sweden for a wedding ring, the same as here. Surely he has just bruised his hand ? I’ve never had a bruise from my wedding ring.

ShinyMe · 03/01/2023 20:57

Ohhh wait. Are you saying that he's telling her he's not married, and doesn't wear a ring, but has a bruise on a finger that is not his wedding ring finger, and she's deduced from this that he in fact does wear a wedding ring and is therefore lying to her? Is that it?

So she has been all the way to Sweden (or wherever, you mentioned an airport) to meet him and stay at his house, but hasn't met any of his friends or family?! They also share a hobby and she doesn't know any of his friends through this either?

I still don't understand which finger this bruise is on, you keep mentioning wedding ring finger, but then in this post you again say it's on the opposite hand. So he has a bruise in a place that a ring wouldn't normally give you a bruise, seemingly no other indentation or tan line, which would be far more common with long-term ring wearing , and it's not even on the wedding ring hand?!

NewBootsAndRanty · 03/01/2023 20:57

Wouldn't you take your rings off for weightlifting if it's likely they'll bruise?

RambamThankyouMam · 03/01/2023 20:58

OP, I mean this kindly - are you ok?

LoveLoveIt · 03/01/2023 21:00

Is it an indentation or a bruise? Usually if you wear a ring for a while the palm side of your hand develops a callous (sp?) after a while. I got a horrible bruise around my claddagh ring that I always wear because it caught on something and the bruise was roughly ring-shaped.

It’s on his right hand. Which is opposite to the traditional wedding hand.

They know mutual people from the hobby but she’s not going to start messaging them asking if he’s married.

You and your "friend" both have Achenbach Syndrome so can rule that out as a cause? Well that's convenient isn't it?

Bruise. Like it’s a cheap metal that’s rubbed of on his finger…. But there is no mark on the side where the knuckle is. As people wash their palms more than the knuckle side, it’s not a reaction to a metal. Does that make sense?

This site gets more nonsensical everyday. The shit people find to worry about astounds me.
