Quite attractive? I'm a 30 year old woman so he is a little out of my usual age range but there's something about him I find really attractive. Maybe it's an attraction due to how clever the man is, I'm not sure. I can't be alone in this?

OP posts:
Arseulaundress · 31/12/2022 15:50

I'm not attracted to men anyway, but he's not as intelligent as he wants you to think, and he comes across as filled with rage, which I find offputting.

He's a pseudo-intellectual misogynist. I'm not sure what's sexy about that.

I came here to say that! And they like listening to him!!

OneTC · 31/12/2022 15:52

Boak

Notimeforaname · 31/12/2022 15:53

Agree with Peacelily38 I had the same reaction as many here when I first heard of him. But I spent time researching and listening and learned so much from him/about him. Great man.

Why are so many women attracted to misogyny?

? Some sort of primal competition with other females. The 'cool girls' get the men perhaps. I wouldn't want men like that personally speaking 😂

The bloke's a prick.

Let me give you a quote of his just in case you didn't realise it...

"Violent attacks are what happens when men do not have partners, and society needs to work to make sure those men are married."

Prick.

Talk about picking one line out of a whole speech.

you can pick one line from any person and make them out to be something either amazing or horrific.

Lazy and ill thought out to quote one line of a 3 decade career. Reminds me of those idiots who quote a single statistic with zero context or critical thought

Peacelily38 · 31/12/2022 16:10

Stompythedinosaur · 31/12/2022 15:47

The quote does not bring up the interview because JP has ensured he only has the interviews he chooses accessible. Unless you disbelief several major media sources, it is pretty clear he has expressed these views, then attempted to cover it up.

I think alot of media sources can be disbelieved these days after all they are written by humans with their own bias, coupled with the fact that the world is more divided than ever, I wouldn't expect a balanced impartial article from a left wing paper especially on JP.

I used to regard myself as left wing but have since had my eyes opened.
I only listen to the actual person who is being spoken about now, instead of relying on others perceptions.

Arseulaundress · 31/12/2022 16:10

@Googlecanthelpme And yet...he said it.
The mask slips sometimes.

dorindasinger · 31/12/2022 16:10

@CleoandRalf Googling the quote does not bring up the guardian article, at least not on the first page.

DonutCrossMeIEatYou · 31/12/2022 16:10

Hahahahahahahaaaaa!!!

Best troll post I’ve seen in ages. Love the “I’m a 30 year old woman” bit.

StrawberryWater · 31/12/2022 16:14

He gives me severe boak.

His ideas might appear intelligent or logical at first glance but scrape back even a millimetre and you’ll find he’s a misogynistic, ill informed prick who doesn’t research his topics properly. He belongs in the bin of the Reddit conservative sub forums and not in the main stream.

Jimboscott0115 · 31/12/2022 16:14

If misogynist, drug addicts with some troubling mental issues are your thing then definitely not unreasonable!

Readabookgroucho · 31/12/2022 16:14

Nothing more sexy than a man who’s so insecure he makes himself feel better by putting down women. Yum.

dorindasinger · 31/12/2022 16:15

@CleoandRalf it's not...

This is exactly right.

When you take snippets of conversation or speeches then you can spin it many, many ways.

When you take the time to listen to the whole of someone’s perspective you begin to see that what sounded like provocation and radicalism is actually just another way of looking at a situation and that they have valid contributions.

He certainly does not hate women, far far from it. He does however refuse to demonise men, especially young men. He is 100% right to say that men being demonised and isolated is a bad thing - it leads to violence against women. He is not blaming women, he is saying there is a place where we help young men to be better, which in turn helps women. We all know this, we all know to solve violence against women we have to solve the disenfranchisement of young men (of course amongst other things like access to violent porn etc), he’s not saying anything we don’t already know.

He argues against lazy journalism and hyperbole and he is right to do that.

I’ve decided to believe the top few posters are being sarcastic because I can’t quite accept that some women would be thick enough to fall for this guy’s bullshit.

Or male

Is this the same sort of "independent research" that anti-vaxers and q anon encourage people to do?

Evaluate your sources, by all means, but ignoring experts and legitimate sources is not a sign of intelligence.

I must admit he brings out a motherly instinct in me. I think, Oh you poor little broken creature because he is so mentally fragile. But he's also a disturbed misogynistic little shit, so I pity any woman who falls romantically for his pop-psych babble and 'I'm hurt, restore me' neediness.
