Quite attractive? I'm a 30 year old woman so he is a little out of my usual age range but there's something about him I find really attractive. Maybe it's an attraction due to how clever the man is, I'm not sure. I can't be alone in this?

No need to confirm. I don't believe anyone doubts that you would.

I've always been very proud of my unambiguous messaging style.

No, they're examples of a patriarchal society but if you don't believe in it then you won't see it or admit it.....

Claiming it's biology is doing women a disservice. Why challenge it? Why try to address inequalities if it's just due to biology?
It allows the many, many inequalities to persist and is, quite frankly, a cop out.

I'm not sure that you understand what the patriarchy is. No one is saying individuals don't make choices, they are saying that the those choices are influenced by upbringing and social rules, which privilege men and inclines women to accept a poorer quality of life or their own inferiority.

JP denies there was ever a patriarchy in western society and he is the focus of the discussion for this thread.

BTW I’ve already said I think JP is very considered and thoughtful and has a lot to offer in many of his ideas. Like you though he has a complete blind spot on the damaging effects of patriarchal culture.

@WendelineTestaburger fancy answering my question at any point?

What evidence is there that the patriarchy doesn't exist?

yadaya · 02/01/2023 20:45

.At the moment taking an overall view of this, much of seems to be is a list of grievances against men.

Oh what a disappointing, yet predictable response. Acknowledging the patriarchy exists and impacts the structure of society doesn't mean I'm just listing reasons I don't like men!

But that is what you are doing. Define what you think patriarchy means. This much be the first premise of your research surely? You can't define it on what you perceive the outcomes of it are. Define what it is. Then we can work from there.

No, I've not done that. I've offered measured responses to all of your questions but you have interpreted them a particular way.
Notice you've not bothered answering my question though 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nah I asked first..... you're so adamant it doesn't exist so feel free to enlighten us all as to your reasons. I've spent all evening answering your questions and you can't even be bothered to answer the ONE I've asked you.

If you can't (or can't be arsed) im happy to leave it 🤷🏼‍♀️

catandcoffee · 02/01/2023 21:08

Just googled this person had a quick 10 second listen to him.... and it's a big fat NO from me.

The whole body language and how he speaks.....and those eyes.......if he approached me in a pub I'd run.....something creepy about him.

You answered everything extensively, and very well. Much more patience than I have.
