The weirdest thing…I’ve just read about her pregnancy, saw the pictures of her in the snow with her little ones..and just had a massive pang of envy.
Never had that before about Stacey Solomon..just seems nice, the young kids…all the money
Very grateful for my Dd, 4, but can’t have more and would love more. Very grateful to have a roof over our heads and doing ok..but would love more!
I’m not an envious/jealous person normally so it’s taken me a bit by surprise, I’ve also never been interested in S.S either way, although she seems a nice person I suppose 🤷🏻‍♀️
Weird!

I wouldn't be too jealous, she's going be exhausted! Having just one child has it's benefits you know... the grass isn't always greener. Concentrate on the benefits of just having one.

It's really easy to say that but realistically I don't believe there are many positives having been an only child and now having one (sort of!). It's really hard to come to terms with and I say that as someone who didn't actually want a second until recently.

And yes op I think the money does make it all significantly easier. I'd have two or three if I didn't have to worry about extra bedrooms and financing full time nursery or maternity leave.

Blendandmix · 29/12/2022 10:19

She was a teenage mum with nothing at one point. She has done amazingly

Blendandmix · 29/12/2022 10:21

I do find her annoying though. Can't pin point why... And the pickle thing grates me

SandyLanes · 29/12/2022 10:22

@JoyBeorge I’m also local and agree, the decor around the door always looked so trashy.

Does that make you feel better?

BucketofTeaMassiveCake · 29/12/2022 10:24

I don't wish to be unpleasant but why is she famous? I know she was on a TV talent show a few years back but may not have come first. Has she had lots of hit records? I suppose she wants to continue a 5 star lifestyle and all this reality nonsense is the obvious way to fund it which I find rather vacuous and sad, 'famous for being famous' which passes me by.

Arniesleftleg · 29/12/2022 10:24

@MeMyBooksAndMyCats I thought this. The last few videos I've seen of her she's been cupping her tummy and wearing baggy clothes, so it wasn't a shock.

HimiJendrix · 29/12/2022 10:24

Good luck to her, she has done amazingly well for herself. She can afford to have as many kids as she likes. I don't follow her as it's not my thing but she always comes across as happy and content.

Some of these comments are really unpleasant. I understand it’s envy driving them, but it’s not ok to rip another woman apart like that. She’s clearly far from thick and she shows parts of her life that she wishes, she’s not famous for insta, but she does many presenting roles. And good for her.

i wish them all well. Another child is a blessing and they are clearly delighted.

Exactly

Have you missed the several tv shows she presents?

My first thought was “fucking hell, 5 children” but then actually I very quickly reminded myself how many children someone has is no one else’s business.

I thought the same & actually it's 6 as Joe also has a son (but his mum keeps him off their SM) but like you reminded myself it's none of my business!

She has done brilliantly for someone who came 3rd on X Factor, so she's obviously a grafter.

Sorry to those who wanted more children but were unable to have them.

Exactly

I agree. Some of the personal attacks against me just because I dared to have a different opinion are really unpleasant.

Having a different opinion or making a nasty comment?

You made a derogatory comment about her taste, it wasn't an innocent observation it was a pointedly unpleasant comment. You can't then complain that people didn't like it.

No the study is the room she made in Joes man cave with a pool table.

I'm an only child too 😀 I agree it gets worse as you get older but its not unbearably bad.

they've known for months. It's really obvious she's been wearing baggy clothes and hiding it.

The fact they’ve known for months doesn’t mean it wasn’t a surprise when they found out.

I was told I would never conceive naturally and we tried for years

Surlybassey · 29/12/2022 10:36

Goodness me some people on here are horrible! Most of us are human and do judge other people on all sorts of random inconsequential nonsense, but wouldn’t the world be a better place if more tried to keep those judgements to themselves? She seems like a warm, genuine person and I wish her well. There are people in the world doing far worse things to each other and the planet and I wish more would direct their contempt at those individuals rather than picking on women (and it almost always is women) in the public eye who are doing no harm to anyone.

oops, pressed done too soon.

Anyway. We tried to her pregnant for years - regular unprotected sex and nothing happened so we accepted our fate and that was that. And then… one day I got pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️ it was a total shock. But a very happy one ❤️

NavySequins · 29/12/2022 10:38

I do love SS but have found myself scrolling past many of her Instagram posts, wish she would post more of reality, rather than the pickle cottage perfect bubble. She has always come across well in RL and I find her funny, feels a bit Stepford Wives on Instagram, imo!

I much rather follow someone like Kate Lawler for her humour and fun posts, plus her honesty.

oreste · 29/12/2022 10:46

I do not believe that it was a rags to riches story as she likes to describe. In my experience, most women who have had kids with footballers (even non-league ones) are often part of a scene because they want to meet somebody rich and famous. It doesn't just happen in the aisle at Tesco.

Oh do you know her personally then?

EdieLedwell · 29/12/2022 10:51

Getting massive Tattle vibes from this thread.

I hope she's not a Mumsnetter and not reading this.

I don't know how someone who started out working in a chip shop and is now at the level SS is at can be anything other than a "rags to riches" story, and what's more, she's worked for it all.

Bloody good luck to her.

Ponoka7 · 29/12/2022 10:57

She is really part of the wave of go-getting Essex stars who broke into reality TV via TOWIE and other shows. They do come across as thick but extremely driven to make money and get deals. Like the others Faiers, Mccann, Collins and so on, I don't think they have any talents. They were just considered interesting to market to viewers at the right time.

Except she was a singer and him an actor. She turned down towie.

People used to say that the McGuiness household was perfection, but that marriage has now ended. These people are just living their lives, doing what they can. It doesn't mean that they are stress-free or any happier. Or that their children will be more successful etc. I agree that the attack on her for her hair colour and how bright she might be is disgusting. Intelligence isn't something that we give ourselves.

JoyBeorge · 29/12/2022 10:58

So the Gemma Collins thread was instantly zapped because it wasn't in the spirit (whatever that means) but this thread is ok? So one is fair game but the other isn't? Surely even @MNHQ can see the inconsistency in that?
