The weirdest thing…I’ve just read about her pregnancy, saw the pictures of her in the snow with her little ones..and just had a massive pang of envy.
Never had that before about Stacey Solomon..just seems nice, the young kids…all the money
Very grateful for my Dd, 4, but can’t have more and would love more. Very grateful to have a roof over our heads and doing ok..but would love more!
I’m not an envious/jealous person normally so it’s taken me a bit by surprise, I’ve also never been interested in S.S either way, although she seems a nice person I suppose 🤷🏻‍♀️
Weird!

I felt a huge pang of envy too. I think mine is mainly because I had a termination in June this year and would have been due March 2023 which everyone is saying when she is due, it’s been painful to hear of other due dates around when mine would have been. I’d have loved to have kept the baby (it would have been my second - already have a teen DS) but financial reasons didn’t allow at the time but there she is, younger than me and having her FIFTH which was also unplanned by the looks of it, with no money worries.

sorry for the pity post.

💐. Not a pity party. Life is truly cruel. I’m so sorry that happened. It’s shit. No one should feel bad about how they feel.

DarkKarmaIlama · 29/12/2022 11:06

She doesn’t have it all though, she has kids from different dads. Of course that can work but it’s not completely a unit is it when some kids have different dads?

Ponoka7 · 29/12/2022 11:07

Blendandmix · 29/12/2022 10:19

She was a teenage mum with nothing at one point. She has done amazingly

People don't like that, though, especially on MN were you need a degree and to be over 30 before you give birth.

If someone tries to start a discussion about there needing to be campaigns to persuade Muslim men to not get their wives continuously pregnant, even in starve or war situations, there's uproar. But the same posters will pile on a successful women in the UK wanting a larger than average family.

Triflenot · 29/12/2022 11:09

It’s so depressing to read these threads where people bitch about people they don’t even know.
Don’t like her Instagram posts? Don’t look at them then!

blebbleb · 29/12/2022 11:12

Unfortunately if you live in the public eye you invite people's opinions, good or bad.

Very interesting point made Ponoka

I don't think you do invite it tbh, everyone's entitled to an opinion on anyone but what people need to realise is that they're not entitled to voice it to that person. Also, those people probably don't give a fuck, and won't change based on one strangers nasty comment, and nor should they.

Sorry, did you just call me a bully for calling out people making vile comments on the internet?

I'm not sure them not giving a fuck is a good enough excuse to do it. I'm sure that makes me a bully too. Have you actually heard yourself?

You can think whatever you like, you don't have to voice it if it's horrible. Isn't that just being a half decent person?

oreste · 29/12/2022 11:30

It depends on what you call "vile comments".
In my case, I pointed out that she did not sound very clever. It is an opinion with quite a lot to back it up. A lot of the Essex reality TV stars deliberately put on the ditzy act to build up a certain persona. She has even said these things about herself and it has been lucrative. She has a talent for that, at least, because not everybody would be able to pull it off.

sunglassesonthetable · 29/12/2022 11:32

Some of these comments are really unpleasant. I understand it’s envy driving them, but it’s not ok to rip another woman apart like that. She’s clearly far from thick and she shows parts of her life that she wishes, she’s not famous for insta, but she does many presenting roles. And good for her.

i wish them all well. Another child is a blessing and they are clearly delighted.*

Yep. This .

Well let's just say I don't think insulting someone's intelligence is very nice. Certainly doesn't make you look very good, really. Like i say, think what you want. Who is it benefitting voicing that? And why do you think you get to call anyone who doesn't support that a bully?

I think perhaps you need to think about your own motivations.

BucketofTeaMassiveCake · 29/12/2022 11:33

I've probably missed them on purpose. Apart from Would I lie to You these are programmes that I never, ever watch Ineverwanttobelikeyou and I've given up on IACGMOOH because I feel it's become more exploitative. I'm probably not her target audience.

So if you're completely uninterested in her to the point that you don't watch any of her shows or even know they exist, what actually made you click on this thread and comment? I'm really interested.

JoyBeorge · 29/12/2022 10:58

So the Gemma Collins thread was instantly zapped because it wasn't in the spirit (whatever that means) but this thread is ok? So one is fair game but the other isn't? Surely even @MNHQ can see the inconsistency in that?

The other nasty thread about Stacey Solomon was deleted this morning.

sunglassesonthetable · 29/12/2022 11:39

Gathering around pointing out how rubbish someone you don't know is????🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Take a long look.

sunglassesonthetable · 29/12/2022 11:40

I get that people can be very irritating. I get irritated by lots of celebs I don't know.

But really.

Didchristmasreallyhappen · 29/12/2022 11:42

@JoyBeorge I didn’t see the Gemma Collins thread, but I started this thread without malice and some posters commented nasty things..about her personal taste etc
i like SS and said I was envious of her having a loving relationship, lots of kids (especially this) and lots of money to facilitate that lifestyle.
She comes across as down to earth and hopefully a genuine person, best of luck to her.

Because it's an open forum for people to discuss their opinions, as simple as that Ineverwanttobelikeyou no other reason is required.

oreste · 29/12/2022 11:43

She never built a career on the basis of her singing talent. It was mostly due to her making jokes about her own level of intelligence and calling herself ditzy and all the other things and managing to laugh and joke about it. Basically, discuss it constantly. If she is allowed to do it and point out that she is doing it and cash in on it, then your argument falls down.

I vowed to no longer watch Bake Off : The Professionals again if she was presenting because the same bunch of jokes about her own ignorance were repeated constantly. I was only there to watch talented people bake cakes.

I'm not asking you to justify it, I just don't really get why you'd choose to participate in a thread about someone you have absolutely no interest in? Of course it's an open forum but there are threads I have no interest in and scroll past. I just wondered what made you click on it? Was it so that you could make a negative comment? I honestly find it a bit bizarre.

No, I don't think it does. I'm saying there's no justification for making nasty comments about intelligence or taste. I don't care why she's famous, I just don't think it's okay. If you do, that's a reflection on you, and if you're fine with that, well then fine. I wouldn't be.

oreste · 29/12/2022 11:49

However, i do agree that this wasn't the thread for critical thinking. It was an "Awww hun. Stace is Ace. How does she do it?" kind of thread so I'll get off it.
