Am I too old for this?

I've just realised that at home I always go upstairs on all fours, hands and feet. I never walk upstairs like a grown person, always crawl like a lion.

Although I do walk downstairs like a human.

What do you do that you really are too old to still be doing?

I thought you were going to say a mini skirt!

Hands and knees climbing is excellent though.

I can’t think of anything childish I still do. Maybe the occasional tantrum 😬

StressedToTheMaxxx · 28/12/2022 11:48

Hahaha I imagined Mowgli climbing the stairs there.

Um...I can't think of anything actually. I sometimes eat sweeties and crisps for meals. A little more than sometimes actually 😬 I suppose I'm maybe too old for that?

AndyWarholsPiehole · 28/12/2022 11:50

I like to run through big piles of leaves in the autumn.

My mother still jumps in puddles.

ohsotired2022 · 28/12/2022 11:57

I'm 44 and still cuddle a teddy in bed 🤫

If I go on holiday I pack him too otherwise can't sleep without cuddling him.

Think my DH gets jealous 🤣

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/12/2022 11:58

I always have to hop scotch if I see a grid kids have left on the pavement.

My aunt used to call this having a kick and a shiver. She has lived in Australia for decades and still misses kicking through the autumn leaves so I do it for her.

This is quite niche but there are 3 dangling acrylic cylinders as you go up the escalator in John Lewis, which I always tap when I go past to make them swing and have done since I was a child. I think I am definitely too old still to be doing this!

Snorklette · 28/12/2022 12:06

I always go upstairs on all fours too!! And always really fast 😂

I also always gallop excitedly down my driveway when my friends come to pick me up.

I’m 52 😉

Jackfrostnipping · 28/12/2022 12:14

Walking along balancing on low walls, raised path edges etc.
47 🙂

Jackfrostnipping · 28/12/2022 12:16

Errrr... This one too
I sometimes eat sweeties and crisps for meals

I do both of these 👍

MrsHughesPinny · 28/12/2022 12:18

I sometimes eat chocolate or cake for breakfast if that’s what I fancy. Because I’m an adult and I can! My Mum was (still is!) the food police so I feel slightly guilty and like I shouldn’t but eff it!

imnotthatkindofmum · 28/12/2022 12:19

I still go on the swing in the park with my youngest (9). I'm 45 with a bottom that doesn't really fit but I still do it as often as possible!

I still jump off while it's swinging too.

Lorrymum · 28/12/2022 12:21

Going on swings and slides in local park when (I hope) no one is around. I'm 65.

stbrandonsboat · 28/12/2022 12:22

I like kids sweets like jelly tots. I also love looking at the toys and dolls in the supermarket and imagine playing with them. I play with a bouncy ball in the kitchen and am a sucker for the sparkly things in Claire's stores and buy things for my cat's dining area. I'm 52 🤦

bluetowel1 · 28/12/2022 12:23

I always put some fries in my McDonald's burger.. not even my 8 year does that lol

JanesLittleGirl · 28/12/2022 12:26

Skipping on my way to work. It makes me feel happy.

LP9 · 28/12/2022 12:38

I'm almost 40 and I go up the stairs at home on all 4s too! I have to make a conscious effort not to do it at work when I'm in a hurry. I've alway put it down to growing up in a bungalow.

NancyPickford · 28/12/2022 12:44

I go up our very steep staircase on all fours, but walk down 'like a human'. Am desperate to try space buns, but think I'd only have them at home, not out and about (am 60s).

I do this!

Pyjamageddon · 28/12/2022 12:46

Walking down the hallway at home moving my arms like I'm an old steam train. No idea why. Mid-forties.

OldTinHat · 28/12/2022 12:46

I go upstairs like that too! But only in my house. My neighbour popped round recently and had to go upstairs to look at something (bathroom is downstairs so not that reason!) and she crawled up as well!

Figgypuddingpiggyfudding · 28/12/2022 12:51

I blow bubbles in my drink if it comes with a straw and I've taught my 2 year old to do it too!

I also take my knickers off with a kick and flourish before my bath - been doing it that way since I was small.

I always have to try and aim at the bin with tissues or whatever, can't just go and put it in like an adult.

I also love going on the swings, my husband was horrified when our son was small and he was in the pram while I had a go (lightheartedy horrified, he found it funny really)

StrawberryWater · 28/12/2022 12:56

I still do it occasionally. 🤣

Only in my own home though.

I’d think it very odd if I saw someone doing it in my local shopping centre! 🤣
