To try and pop this lump?

I’ve got a horrible lump on the back of my ear, obviously I can’t see it but DH said it looks like a massive zit. It’s about as big as an M&M - it’s getting painful now.

GP surgery is closed until 6th Jan. it doesn’t warrant an emergency appointment - I’ve got some sterile needles, should I just pop the fucker?

It doesn’t look like it’s poppable. It looks painful though. I’d wait until it has a head on. You can get magnesium sulphate ointment which draws spots/ cysts/ splinters etc out of the skin. Boots sell it

Maybe encourage it to come to a head with hot compresses and gently pressure over the course of a few days. Then the magic should happenGrin

Magnesium sulphate paste to draw to a head then pop it. I've had these before. They are very satisfying when they do pop.

I’ve just pressed a hot cup of coffee against it, now it is really really hurting. I dare not stick anything in it, it’s too hard, it feels like it’s stuck on the Cartlidge

I had one in the exact same spot. Was there for ages and I had a feel every day until suddenly it was good to go. Sooo satisfying when I could pop it.

Hot compress - flannel in boiling water - hold it against it.

I have a friend who suffers with.

It should burst on its own. Just keep it clean.

I get them there occasionally. Just give it a squeeze and in a few days it will be ready to pop

Hot compress then have your husband shove a clean pin into it. Seriously what do you think a doctor will do different?

Im not surprised! How will you pop it if you can't see it?

As others have said, wait for it to come to a head. Your husband might have to do it for you. Salt water will sting but you need it to reduce risk of infection.

I've had this before. Popped it, cleaned it immediately. There will be a lot of gunk. I've never had one since so I can only imagine it was a blocked pore that I might have noticed had it been somewhere visible. I'm really careful with cleaning behind my ears now, and always go over that area with micellar and water when cleansing.
