Smuggest mum blogger post ever?

Yippitydoodah · 21/12/2022 20:18

I follow a mum blogger who lives in a very remote location in the UK. Posts have always been a bit ‘aren’t we wholesome’ but with some interesting stuff too. But just recently the smug has reached a new level! She homeschools her kids (not short of a bob or two) and posted about their day outdoors in the nice winter sunshine. She said ‘my son said, just think mum, if I went to school like everyone else I would be sat in a classroom missing this beautiful day. Isn’t he wise?’

AIBU to ask if this is the most self congratulatory post ever?!

Reminds me of this 😂

If a 3 year old said that then I’m a tractor wheel.

The kid in my OP is 6…

I knew a mum blogger who was actually having an affair with a married Dad from school. She claimed to be wholesome, outdoorsy, organic #makingmemories etc etc. None of it was true - she kicked off very loudly when the school asked her to do healthier packed lunches for her kids.

Her kids knew how to pose in matching outfits but they were dreadfully miserable in real life.

The mum blogger had to move away after punching another mum in the playground and getting pregnant by her affair partner.

It was awful. I often think about her poor children

Anyway, point is - the Internet is all fake. Funny and fake.

It's much of a muchness, but I couldn't help reading your post and being reminded of a very old MN post mocking "Finn's Montessori Nursery".

Finn must be a great hulking teenager by now Smile

Found the post (can't find the MN thread)

She still posts incredibly perfect shots on instagram, you've got to respect the dedication.

maddiemookins16mum · 21/12/2022 21:15

Pretty sure the kid would rather be at School with his wee pals than trudging round in the cold with his boring Mum.

@BertieBotts one of the things she wanted was for the room for the room for her baby “to be child friendly” 😁😁😁😁

I follow some American ones. Their kids are always blonde and have bonkers names. One I follow has boys called something like Bristol, Rawlings and Thompson and her daughters are something like Braxton and Baker-May. They basically have surnames as names and it’s apparently some old southern American thing ?!! I find it absolutely fascinating and would love to know what they’re actually like in real life. One posted about how they forgot their kids lunch and got something delivered to the school instead. Imagine this In real life ?!

Blueeyedgirl21 · 21/12/2022 21:26

@kittensinthekitchen sure but not sure many uk schools are not off for Christmas. Or maybe this child is so clever he knows all the holidays of every school . So he can smugly compare how great his life is.

Triffid1 · 21/12/2022 21:30

He may have said it... because of her parroting such things for months or years.

Our pta was frantically raising funds for some essential equipment in a new building. Lots of initiatives etc. At the time, I was on the committee. It was relentless because we had a time limit. One group of parents, including dh, got together separately and worked on an amazing fundraising project. They worked really hard and it was v successful and it became our biggest single fund raising event for this huge effort. Brilliant.

The son of the woman who was leading it caused mayhem when he announced in class that his mummy had responsible dor the school getting the new equipment.

It got round the school sharpish and caused some very bad feelings.

I've long suspected the mum had made such comments, (she is definitely the pretentious type) but also that the ds took them too literally!!

ColdHandsHotHead · 21/12/2022 21:32

Unfollow her.

Is the "local unfinished furniture shop" IKEA?

'Nerve'?

Why? What's she going to do? Track you down and slap you, or sit there and type you to death?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

ThanksAntsThants · 21/12/2022 21:34

YABU, I bet she’s never sent her child to a neglectful childminder who allows him to watch Frozen.

lollipoprainbow · 21/12/2022 21:34

I know one of these, she doesn't work and her husband spoils her rotten. Her and her son seem to spend most of their days eating out for breakfast or lunch always with the hashtag #toocoolforschool .

That thread is golden 🤣

Blueeyedgirl21 · 21/12/2022 21:39

I know a woman who started a sort of comedy ‘my life is so shit’ type Instagram where she talked about how skint they were with three kids how her kids drove her mad etc quite funny but it was like a reverse if the usual her parents were millionaires she lived in a 5 bed house in a really nice area and had a designer dog etc her kids always wore ‘relatable’ mismatched clothes but they were always brand new Jojo, Frugi, scandi brands not hand me down Asda’s as she made out. Seeing how she tried to play down her circumstances was bizarre

Ridelikethewindypops · 21/12/2022 21:39

I need links to aĺl mentioned please. I'm bored and too lazy to Google.

Pumpkin20222 · 21/12/2022 21:39

Her poor kids, if she is using them for content. I hope she is not posting pictures and videos of them.

There is an insta blogger who goes on and on about her son having 'Einstein Syndrome', but he about four and does not speak or interact. It is like the online bs has spilled over into real life. Hopefully behind all the glossy product shilling the kid is used for he is actually getting help. Scary how these kids are used, but they are too young to give consent.

UntilHootOwlReturns · 21/12/2022 21:39

Sounds like somebody insecure desperately trying to justify their choices to themselves tbh.

Ericaequites · 21/12/2022 21:40

@BertieBotts - I am having a hard time this Christmas, but Finnian’s Mom/Sew Liberated made me laugh. Everything is just so perfect until the sling worn baby pukes on the sewing project or in the cozy soup.

There are many nations within America, and the South is another planet all its own.

WetLettuce2 · 21/12/2022 21:43

I follow a lady on tic toc who gets dressed every day - in about 10 layers !
She finishes with a giant mac and I always think I’d put that over my onesie and get the same effect 😂

Im so jealous though, she has lovely designer clothes !
