to think the Daily Mail are utter hypocrites for being upset at the article by Clarkson about Meghan Markle

The Daily Mail has been obsessed with her. Repeated articles, columns, headlines - all having a go at them. Calling them treacherous.

And then - they get upset that Clarkson writes an awful column about what he wants to see happen to Meghan

Gosh - someone gets repeatedly targeted by the mainstream media and then the lead media outlet gets upset that a prominent commentator goes too far even for them.

What did they think would happen?

Meanwhile in the Mail, there is an article linking the demise of the Queen to Meghan and Harry

I’m no fan of Meghan and Harry ( Whiney spoilt middle -aged entitled brats ) but The Queen “was” in her Nineties.

I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine recently and we both agreed that up until relatively recently, we were both supportive of the monarchy, however, we’re now on the republican side.

The reason for this isn’t H&M, I mean his dad was fantasising about being his mistresses tampon and cheated on his mum from day 1 so I dint get the outrage. No, it due to the Queen doing nothing/very little to hold the country together through Brexit and Covid. I thought the palace did a terrible job during those times. What’s the point of royalty?

So basically…
…‘’If it’s not happening to me, I don’t see it.”

La la la la la la la eyes closed and fingers in ears).

The sort of people who like Clarkson will like his comments, and that's all he needs to validate them.

I don't drive, have no interest in cars have never seen Top Gear, I don't read The Sun and moved to an EU country before he took over Millionaire. However, I did enjoy Clarkson's Farm - and thought he set himself up as a kind pantomime villain.

I wouldn't call myself a fan but yes, I am looking forward to second season of Clarkson's Farm but that piece of Meghan Markle was awful and too far. I saw that it was supposed to be a reference to a scene from Game of Thrones but I have never seen it and that doesn't excuse the bile directed at Meghan.

I also have no time for Harry & Meghan - they are self obsessed professional victims. His book has shown him to be paranoid man baby and way worse than her deluded aspirations. But she did not deserve than rant from Clarkson and The Sun should not have printed it. I believe it received the most complaints ever about - The Daily were 100% right to report on it. It would have odd if they hadn't .

I don’t think they are “upset” at all. I think they’re just making sure that this comes to even wider attention.

BethDuttonsTwin · 21/01/2023 06:42

Oh and I like Clarkson but I don’t like that article and it is right he should retract and apologise. He shouldn’t lose his entire career for it though and Harry and Meghan’s petulant rejection of his apologies is par for the course. I’ve seen the scene he refers to and it’s clear to me that JC is making a reference as a whole to this whole ongoing saga as being a “Game Of Thrones” as well as the Cersei public shaming scene. Time everyone got over it. People will vote with their feet if they can’t bear to watch him anymore - natural consequences.

Anyway please see below.

"The Jezebel is a stereotype used to refer to fair-skinned, slimmer, and lighter-eyed Black women, becoming hyper-sexualized by America and its media soon after the Mammy trope began its decline. Similar to the Sapphire, this trope was used as a justification for the harassment and assaults against Black women, as this painted them as inherently tempestuous and beguiling. The Jezebel presents as a slave construct, depicting Black women as "promiscuous" and "lustful". During slavery, lighter skinned women were seen as more worthy concubines to wealthy slave owners, whereas darker skinned women were more worthy for harsher labor such as field work. The Jezebel constructed a harmful perception of Black women that heavily contributed to their sexual and economic exploitation."

I am out for the day. If anyone wants to argue it they can find the own sources.

Where is this link from please?

I think you will find the mail goes what's ever way it wants as a more free think paper should do.
Unlike say the guardian who surpressed stuff and lies because the truths don't fit their narrative!
