to think the Daily Mail are utter hypocrites for being upset at the article by Clarkson about Meghan Markle

cakeorwine · 18/12/2022 10:37

The Daily Mail has been obsessed with her. Repeated articles, columns, headlines - all having a go at them. Calling them treacherous.

And then - they get upset that Clarkson writes an awful column about what he wants to see happen to Meghan

Gosh - someone gets repeatedly targeted by the mainstream media and then the lead media outlet gets upset that a prominent commentator goes too far even for them.

What did they think would happen?

It doesn't even need to be a complex press release, a formulaic "we do not condone the comments made in the recent article about Meghan, we stand against incitement to hatred, Harry and Meghan are valued members of our family, blah blah cliche blah".

TheKeatingFive · 18/12/2022 20:28

Exactly

Livingtothefull · 18/12/2022 21:51

Some other stuff that Clarkson wrote in his column hasn't been publicised as much as the 'excrement' comments but is equally if not even more vile. It refers to Harry as 'slightly dim but fun-loving' before meeting Meghan 'who obviously used some vivid bedroom promises to turn him into a warrior of woke'.

That is so so disgusting. The stereotype of a woman as corrupt, a witch seducing and leading a good men astray, is as old as time and has been used as justification for countless acts of brutality against women. It sent Anne Boleyn to the scaffold for one.

Maybe if the royal family don't want members pointing out their toxicity, they shouldn't be toxic in the first place?

If someone came on here and posted about their family expecting then to work in the family business with no option to do anything else, wanting their wife to do some work for that business within hours of giving birth, asked inappropriate questions about the colour of their baby's skin, that their uncle was a sex offender and they were required to support him, that their brother was a golden child who could do no wrong and they were the also-ran, that their family were spreading gossip about them in order to protect said golden chid.... the replies on a thread like that would be a resounding "go NC".

I think that's true @JamSandle but on this occasion, I do think he should speak out as this has been particularly vile.

I really hope he doesn't say anything.

Ah so you agree with Jeremy Clarkson then that Meghan is worse than a serial killer? As Jezebel was literally (or ficitonally depending on your view of the bible) a woman who killed a lot of people.

I'd love to know what you think Meghan has done that is so bad that she's worse than someone who killed multiple people. Because that's a very bold point of view.

Here is the racism you all constantly ask for. There is always one.

They’re probably just jealous because the ham faced little scrote of a ‘human’ didn’t write for them.

I haven’t read the piece and won’t give him my clocks but it seems his DD thinks he’s a massive prick as she’s spoken out against it. Good woman!

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 19/12/2022 01:03

Jezebel isn’t racist?

exactly, you've put it perfectly

justgettingthroughtheday · 19/12/2022 01:31

@Florenz what precisely makes Meghan a bad person?
How can you possibly know that!
Your post are vile and prove Meghan and Harry's point precisely. I hate reported your comment

This article is vile and I'm so pleased that his own daughter Emily has stood up for MM and the daily Mail are hypocrites as they have actively set out to destroy her.
I'm shocked that the Sun allowed it to be printed, but they should print an apology and so should he.
The whole thing has gone too far now

I don't think you understand how NC works or what it is meant to achieve.

You can't go NC with someone & keep selling gossip about them to the global press. So that wouldn't suit H&M, & your analogy falls at the first hurdle.

It would only suit people who are prepared for the discretion & discipline NC requires. H&M are not interested in protecting their feelings by refusing to air them or discuss their relatives - they are interested in spinning those injured feelings out as long as possible. For cash.

It's extremely unhealthy, but I imagine they are surrounded by Yesmen so never get to hear that.

KettrickenSmiled · 19/12/2022 04:28

Yes, her statement was clear, direct, & took no side other than "hate speech is wrong, & so is my dad."

I find all the H&M vs: W&K side-takers utterly ridiculous, & personally reckon H&M are a pair of spoiled lightweights. But the bile that is spewed by the general public - for either couple - & fuelled by stupendous cunts like Clarkson is bewildering. You DON'T EVEN KNOW THESE PEOPLE. How can you nurture such astounding levels of hatred? Humans are fucking weird.

Well honestly they must have completely stressed her out and ruined her final years. I bet she was sick to death of them. They do seem all out to destroy the family.

Well, that and her paedo son who cost her £12m to pay off a woman he reckons he never met, and hung around with known traffickers.

I wonder if there will be consequences? He presents Who wants to be a Millionaire?

Do advertisers and ITV want to be associated with him?

And sadly that is what, if anything, will be what sacks him.

Not violence.
Not misogyny.
Not being vile.

Advertisers withdrawing.

Livingtothefull · 19/12/2022 06:08

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 18/12/2022 17:43

Whether they did or otherwise, her appearance at a lunch with two notorious misogynists like Morgan and Clarkson - her being supposedly a vocal advocate against domestic abuse and violence - shows her up in a terrible light. I'd go further, and suggest she is an unfit patron for any charity standing against VAWG.

The same's true of the deafening silence emanating from the palace. They are simply standing by, giving violence and hate-speech against the spouse of their own flesh and blood a free pass.

They disgust me. This justifies every word Harry and Meghan say about the Windsors' unwillingness to protect them as long as they were detracting attention from the reputations of others in the family, as well as showing up in neon lights exactly why Meghan feared for her safety and that they both felt they had no option but to leave.

From Windsor PR: radio silence. It speaks volumes.

I'm afraid it does bring Camilla's conduct into question, that she chooses to be friends with Clarkson, who has talked very recently of their long standing friendship. You do judge people by the company they keep; look at the consequences for Andrew - you'd think the rest of them would have learned. Being friends with a misogynist, who had to pay out thousands in damages after a physical assault - not a good look 'Queen' Camilla.

We don't know for sure whether they conspired over the article or chuckled over its contents during their lunch - but surely they must have known that the timing would look suspect. Did they not care or are they just completely stupid?

This makes it very awkward for the RF to condemn Clarkson's article now. My guess is that they will remain silent on this and that they will feel they have sufficiently displayed their anti-racist credentials in the aftermath of the Hussey affair. I really think they are crass and stupid enough to believe that.
