Unless I've missed it, this sentencing seemed to pass without even a mention on here. AIBU to wonder why this Man was even on the streets, freed from prison just a week before he committed such an unthinkable heinous crime against a lone female?

World dosent need him. Wouldn't care less if he was destroyed. If he was an animal he would have been put down.
He was serving no purpose on earth at all
He still isn't as taxpayers are paying to keep him alive.
Didn't some woman try and get off with him in jail. She worked there. What a disgrace.
Why would she want to go with someone like that?

I just cannot understand the reasoning here, the fact he rendered her unconscious quickly yet STILL carried on with a horrifically violent attack when she had no way of fighting back makes him even more of a monster to me?

The fact the defence say because she was rendered unconscious quickly she didn't suffer! Like hell she didn't. I did wonder where they say she stopped moving at the start of the attack whether it was a freeze response rather than being unconscious. I read the report via a link from Victoria Derbyshires Twitter account. It is a very hard read.

He was a career criminal.by the sounds of it what a nice fella not.

Why does he want to be so violent and horrible couldn't he have got help?

On the night of the attack he was thrown out the pub for harassing women.
Why didn't the landlord report this to the police
Why didn't the women who tried to escape him call the police.

I’m so shocked by this. Why does he even get an appeal against sentence length? Just making money for scum solicitors who should be ashamed of themselves. This is a the most dangerous kind of criminal rapist and we’re spending tax money on making his sentence lighter? As a woman I feel utterly betrayed by the legal system. Poor Zara and her family.

Paragraph 29 of the judge’s Sentencing Remarks deals with the argument that she was unconscious early on and that her suffering was an aggravating feature. He suggests that the reason the defendant may have returned to her body twice may have been because she was conscious.

I heard about this on the radio the other day and it really shocked me. It sends out the wrong message. Is there a petition anyone has seen about the slashing of the sentence, other than the 'Face the Family' one?
