It seems to be rife! Basically, bad cold / flu like symptoms, chesty cough (not Covid) BUT, it hits you like a freight train for about a week, then you feel better for a few days BUT IT COMES BACK WORSE?

I can’t recall ever feeling this rough, and it’s not just me there are 13 children off school in my child’s class with the same thing, and the parents in the group chat saying similar although some lucky ducks have dodged it.

Wondering if this is happening everywhere or just in our wee village?

We have all had a bad cold before but the fact it goes and comes back is weird, it’s really dragging on now I’m into the third week of it.

Yabu - no such thing happening near us
Yanbu - it’s everywhere and I’m sick of it now

4 weeks for me on Tuesday 😩😩😩

do you have Covid?
cant stand 4 weeks of this 😫😩

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 18/12/2022 11:06

It feels like covid, I've had it twice already. But I tested a few times the first week and constantly negative. It's not flu cos I've had that once and couldn't get out of bed for 5 days and this feels different.

I'm definitely better than I was, I developed a sinus infection at one point and needed a week of antibiotics. Still very congested, lingering dry cough and constant headache though.

Minfilia · 18/12/2022 16:09

Anyone else feel like their chest is on fire? Literally burning?

it’s horrific!

Jholli · 18/12/2022 17:01

My Symptoms were phlegm cough alone for ages maybe 4 weeks the now it’s a dry tickly annoying cough that won’t go for the last 3 weeks
today I have runny nose and sneezing too

GuyFawkesDay · 18/12/2022 17:04

It's a really nasty one, we had over 1/4 of our entire school students off with it this week. It really does hit people hard.

SafeMove · 18/12/2022 17:46

I have all the symptoms but also vomming - only when I eat though weirdly. I am only on Day 3 and cpuld cry!

Frostysnowlady · 18/12/2022 18:35

I've had the worst cold. Started off as a bad cough one month ago. Eased off then came back even worse. Have sore back and rib cage from all the coughing. Then it evolved into a sinus infection, so bunged up then streaming constant snot. Had chills and what I can only imagine resemembles a migraine when the sinus infection was at its peak. My husband has been ill too since October only feels better this week after a chest x ray due to incessant cough for7 weeks and finally succumbing to antibiotics. It's rough

Toddler and baby sleep deprivation on top doesn't help

I'm in the second stage and feel awful

I had it week before last and it was awful. Really bad chesty cough/achy/painful sore throat and barely any voice - I teach so that was fun 🙄

Thankfully, I teach secondary and the kids were amazing at staying quiet so I didn't have to project too much.

We've all.had it in school but it's tricky to take a duvet day as you know colleagues will have t cover you and if it's someone who doesn't teach your subject it can be very difficult.

Me too, jealous of all the people able to take a whole week off!

Iusedtobedontcall · 18/12/2022 20:52

I’m a teacher too, but I physically couldn’t have got up and driven to work. There was just no way. I had muscular aches and was woozy.
