to believe H&M because of defamation laws?

I've watched the full series on Harry and Meghan.
A few things have struck me.
The most important thing is that there are defamation laws in England. Damage to your reputation is grounds for pursuing such a case. That no such case has yet been initiated by William or Kate, suggests that there is truth in Harry and Meghan's version of events.
Meghan comes across as very vulnerable but very real. She also comes across as very much in love still; as does Harry.
I admire Harry for his decision to leave. I do buy his logic; if the tax payer had even 1% of a contribution to their lives financially, the media could then claim a public interest.
Harry comes across as incredibly intelligent. He has always been touted as the dumb one. He seems to be very much more than some dumb guy.
He adores Meghan and that seems to be reciprocated. She gave him an out.

Harry is very much is mother's son. Diana would have supported Meghan I think. I think they were kindred spirits (Diana and Harry) in a way. Pawns in the game where the king and queen reign...

I don't get on with my SIL. That doesn't make me a cunt anymore than it makes her a cunt. We simply don't get along.

I suppose, a bit like Meghan, I'm never conformist. I'm more of rebel without a cause in her view.

LOL, she's an attention seeking narcissistic brat. She tells lies and then when caught out defends them as being 'her truth'. If she's such a rebel why is she still using the Duchess of Sussex title at every opportunity? Mark my words they will go to the coronation if invited because its the grandeur that she craves but its high enough to get on her own.

For such a racist bullying institution, she still jumps at the opportunity to be photographed with them. Shes like a toddler throwing a tantrum. They ignore it so she gets louder and louder expecting them to react and they dont.

They don't need HRH to garner interest. People are interested in them.

Absolute rubbish! Take that away and the American tv/ podcast companies will drop them like a hot potato! If the "institution" was so awful to them why not refuse to use the titles handed to them by that institution? Because they know full well thats what brings in the money in the USA.

Cherryblossoms85 · 16/12/2022 08:27

I might have some sympathy for them if there weren't constant shots of Hermes blankets in the background, as if backing up the general air of entitlement and total lack of any gratitude for what they do have that many people do not. Many people fall out with their families, have unkind things said about them; they do not have $90 million to tell the world about how terribly hard done by they are.

Youwhatnowffs · 16/12/2022 08:27

The fact that anyone believes what they see and hear on the myriad of ‘documentaries’ produced these days is just testament to how little critical thinking is required in today’s society. Do you think the Kardashians is all real? MIC? Same goes for M&H🤷🏼‍♀️

RambamThankyouMam · 16/12/2022 06:17

They come across as a pair of over-privileged, attention-seeking wastes of space, to be quite frank.

This. I can't see anything you've written op.

Shejustwentthere · 16/12/2022 08:23

In 5 years she has never opened her mouth.

And?

Just because you keep your mouth shut doesn't mean you are suddenly High Court Judge material.

According to your logic Meghan and Harry cannot be trusted because they didn't keep theirs shut.

flapjackfairy · 16/12/2022 08:29

@Shejustwentthere
well you should be ashamed of encouraging a thread that is happy to criticise and pigeonhole young kids and pit them against each other frankly .

I’m guessing if someone claims Harry is intelligent, then they’re the prime audience for reality TV…

I've said for a very long time that I think they had a plan all along. The fact that they appear to have filmed or photographed just about anything and everything sort of proves that for me. I couldn't understand why Oprah was invited to the wedding but clearly that was for future use. I feel both of them decided that they could make oodles of their story in the USA and that was their goal. Despite the talk about them living in Africa that wasn't on the cards as they wouldn't be so interesting protecting elephants or doing other charitable work. As to the claim of defamation I think that they keep just on the right side and also they know that the Royals don't tend to take legal action. I mean over the years lots of articles have appeared about them, there has always been criticism of them. They would spend half their time in court. Even in the 18thC /19thC newspapers told some pretty awful stories about the Royals, it's not

Would you believe a statement from the Palace?

No. Why would anyone trust anything that lot say?

They don't use titles. Harry is a prince whether he likes it or not.

What really struck me was the filming and photographing of all intimate moments. I cannot imagine my DH filming me crying for example

this struck me too, we were watching and It was the bit where they were playing football in the garden with Archie. They had a full on camera crew there. The same with the orange picking.

so many moments with that little boy were filmed and sold. We can say whatever about the royals, but they have never ever filmed their children at home like this and then sold it like that. We see occasional pictures. Or maybe rare footage, but none of them habe ever had a camera crew in filming their children and then selling it for profit.

Totally agree, their aim was always to be reality stars US. They must be very proud.

Mooshamoo · 16/12/2022 08:36

I just think that she's one of those women that make her boyfriend cut everyone else off in his life. That he can only love her and her alone.

I've seen it happen before by controlling women.

I was in a group of friends. I had a good male friend for twenty years. I'll call him john. We had so many memories together. Him, me and another male friend (I'll call him Dave) knew each other all our lives.

He met a woman. He instantly changed and cut me and Dave off. We had known him for twenty years. Dave was so upset and honestly cried about it to me for about a year. We tried to talk to John, but his girlfriend had such total control over him that it was impossible to get through to him. She made him cut off everyone of his friends, while she kept all of her friends.

It's the woman's fault in a way, but it also the man's fault at not being weak in these relationships.

I have seen men that are so terrified of losing the romantic relationship, that they will do anything to keep it. They will cut off family, friends. Meghan is the boss in that relationship. Harry is the weak one. .it doesn't look healthy to me.

LivingOnAnIsland · 16/12/2022 08:36

Incredibly intelligent? Harry?

SnowlayRoundabout · 16/12/2022 08:36

Where does the narrative come from that they wanted equal billing. Harry surely knows he couldn't be King, was he hoping to be?

When he talks about doing the job better than the person who is born to do it, it does rather look as if he is seriously saying he would be a better king. The reality is of course that the king he most closely resembles is Edward VIII.

bloodyplanes · 16/12/2022 08:36

@Shejustwentthere they most definitely do use their Sussex titles! Yes Harry would still be a prince but he doesn't have to use that title!

Ch3wylemon · 16/12/2022 08:36

To be fair, marrying into that institution cost her her career, her family and almost her life (unless you think that she's lying about feeling suicidal?).

I believe that what she thought she wanted - and worked hard for - turned out not to be what she wanted at all. It's not hard to understand that she is struggling.

But ultimately it was her expectations that were wrong. And she can't blame anyone else - except possibly Harry - for that.

Rehashing it over and over won't make her happy either.

Mooshamoo · 16/12/2022 08:39

Do you think that Meghan is abusive?

She made Harry cut off all his family and friends to be with her.

If a man did that to a woman, we would say he is abusive.

NoSnow · 16/12/2022 08:39

Thefriendlyone · 16/12/2022 08:25

That’s why they need to get the public back on side. Which is what this is supposed to do.

meghans Spotify podcasts are dropping in the ratings. Netflix isn’t proceeding with content. If they can’t get the public back on side to the extent they will watch content because it’s them, then both Spotify and Netflix will terminate , its looking likely at this stage and then they have nothing left.

becsude the royals won’t give them access any more , so they will need to rehash it over and over to the highest bidder.

the next controversy is likely going to be the coronation. Where they will want to come, and be seen.have a staring role . I suspect there is also a strong likely hood they will lose their Sussex titles,

it Really could go either way, but even the USA media is appalled, Oprah is backing right off, Elton doesn’t want To be involved, and rhe clooneys who said they had dinners etc George has now said they are not socialising or close. Everyone is backing off them.

Where are you getting this from ? Re: Elton and Oprah

TirisfalPumpkin · 16/12/2022 08:39

Trying to think of all the really outrageous libellous/defamatory things people have said about the royal family over the years, that they haven't sued over. This is really small potatoes in comparison. Also, the royals will be aware that it's uncomfortable now, but H&M have got nothing new to drop, and will never get anything again, so their value as source of insider goss is now exhausted.

They might have to get jobs.

I wouldn't be arsed studying if I was heir to a fortune either. I am considered by some, to be somewhat of a genius and to be a consummate idiot by others lol.

Is it your mum that considers you "somewhat of a genius". You aren't doing Harry any favours with this weird adoring thread by the way. 😂

WatchoRulo · 16/12/2022 08:42

Shejustwentthere · 16/12/2022 06:32

You do if you're sick of keeping quiet. I'm a bit Meghan. I don't dance on ceremony, I abhor niceties and I can't keep my mouth shut in the face of lies or injustice. It's very apparent to me that her being stifled was terribly difficult for her as a woman. It would be for me too!
Woe betide the man who dates me and expects me to obey some sort of family traditions, in contradiction of who I am fundamentally, when I meet his family! That would the end of that relationship.

So by your own yardstick, these things should have been apparent to Meghan, and it should have ended there.
