I've watched the full series on Harry and Meghan. A few things have struck me. The most important thing is that there are defamation laws in England. Damage to your reputation is grounds for pursuing such a case. That no such case has yet been initiated by William or Kate, suggests that there is truth in Harry and Meghan's version of events. Meghan comes across as very vulnerable but very real. She also comes across as very much in love still; as does Harry. I admire Harry for his decision to leave. I do buy his logic; if the tax payer had even 1% of a contribution to their lives financially, the media could then claim a public interest. Harry comes across as incredibly intelligent. He has always been touted as the dumb one. He seems to be very much more than some dumb guy. He adores Meghan and that seems to be reciprocated. She gave him an out. Harry is very much is mother's son. Diana would have supported Meghan I think. I think they were kindred spirits (Diana and Harry) in a way. Pawns in the game where the king and queen reign...

Really, you speak for the entire public? I for one don’t want them to stop. I think it’s great and respect them for speaking out against both the tabloids and the institution. I 100% agree, long before this documentary that Meghan was fed to the wolves, she was completely sacrificed as while the world was slagging her off they weren’t looking at Andrew or the alleged affair William was having. I have always thought the royal family cowards for never speaking up against the tabloids. Harry watched his mom be fed to the wolves, he literally as a child saw the tabloids kill her! He dosnt want the same thing to happen to his wife. He was slow in doing it but he eventually did the right thing and stood up for her.

I also agree the royal family use the media to suit their own narrative. I also don’t think Kate or Camilla ever endured what Meghan has. The bad press camilla got was due to her having an affair with Charles and destroying his “fairytale” marriage, not to mention tampax gate, as soon as he was divorced he used everything he could to protect her, once they were officially together the bad press stopped. Kate got some bad press, but once the engagement was announced, that also stopped.

I fully believe when all the positive press about Meghan was going on it did not sit well with William and Kate, just like it didn't sit well with Charles when Diana was favoured over him, so when the narrative changed to Meghan being a diva, bully, wanting to be queen bee, it absolutely suited them. I also fully without doubt believe the men in grey suits were behind the whole thing, they want the world to think the British Monarchy is modern and progressive on the outside but really they are definitely not on the inside.

The queen apparently was very passionate about keeping the commonwealth, I agree when Harry says Meghan would have been a great asset in this endeavour given her heritage, I don’t think he was boasting about her reforming the royal family, that was all media, but having a woman of colour in the royal family definitely made the royal family more appealing to countries of colour in the commonwealth. I don’t understand how the RF could not have seen and used them as assets in the commonwealth.

As for giving up their titles, why should they, Harry is a royal prince, that should not be taken away from him. when Edward VII abdicated he because the Duke of Windsor and used that title the rest of his life, Harry is now the Duke if Sussex and is entitled to keep that title, if people want to take that away from him then he should be referred to as Prince Harry, because that’s what he is, he didn’t ask for it, it was his birth right

They didn't film in their own home, so any footage that you see that gives the appearance of being at home is a recreation. They used an empty property up the road from them for filming. So the reaction shots are all recreations.

There are 70 million of us great British public which you seem contemptuous of. What have we all done?

Most of those 70 million don't read tabloids, most of us are unaware of the bull we have apparently been fed. If we're unimpressed it's because this six hours of reconstructions are unimpressive.

This. I haven't purchased a tabloid, ever, and I've been around since the 70s. I've seen what Diana, Fergie, Camilla, Sophie and Catherine went through, and Pippa, albeit the press quickly lost interest in her.

I have, however, watched their whiny docco. Even their own show doesn't make them look good.

I have no interest in seeing their house. I don't really care about whether they were real or not. However if the whole purpose of the documentary is to set the record straight then make it clear we are watching recreations not real life.

I think William and Kate just don’t want to lower themselves to this sort of mud slinging. The Sussexes are trying to poke them constantly and so far no reaction. It must be frustrating!

It’s two people’s version of what happened, there’s actually very little evidence. Yes the press were horrible but there’s nothing but rumour and gossip otherwise
