Spare freezer in downstairs loo?

Give it to me true, mumsnet. AIBU to put a spare freezer (and store food in it!) in our downstairs bathroom? Bathroom is huge. But yes it does have a toilet there.

Don’t feel there’s much more to the AIBU than that. Spare freezer currently taking up space in the living room, which is silly, and yes I do really feel the need for it for batch cooking and keeping all my cheats chopped veg or when things are on offer. We do have a fridge/freezer in the kitchen but freezer section is very narrow and not up to snuff. I do plan down the line to buy as huge a fridge / freezer as we can afford and that can fit in the space but for now - is it disgusting to keep a freezer in the toilet, basically .. ? I think I probably know the answer but it would fit so well there!

Rather than arrange an electrical socket, make an outlet to which the freezer is hard wired in.

Check building regulation for ac supply in bathrooms.

How do I know? I grew abroad where it's normal and all washing done indoors, up stairs so when we had the quite large ensuite refurbed, I insisted on including a washing machine.

There was so much push back from the plumbers who 'knew' it was against regulations but couldn't point to the exact regulation that prohibited it. I ended up reading the regulations and happy to have the device hard wired in.

It don't see anything wrong with a freezer in a bathroom but think I would build it into a cupboard (or build the cupboard around it) exactly because it might put some people off and that might be awkward.

We have have had an additional freezer in the downstairs toilet for years.

Last I heard, germs were not able to climb out the toilet, open the freezer door and then open the food packaging.

Ewwww you all have toilets in your actual houses? The poo will seep into the atmosphere and give you COVID in your sleep.

We use the local cafe for our toilet needs. Then burn our outfits afterwards
