Told I was 'phobic' for not using pronouns!

Asked for my preferred pronouns and I said ' I don't use them', pushed on what I use to refer to myself and I said I don't use on emails or when I introduce myself or at all. Apparently, if I use them I am showing inclusivity to others and being accepting. I'm not quite a dinosaur yet but why are these things forced on us. I don't have a beard (yet) and I think you can tell what I am/but does it really matter if you can't.

So AIBU

YANBU - don't have to use pronouns if you don't want to

YABU - you should state what your preferred pronouns are

Ah but is it a “literally violent” thread? Apparently people saying no to gender ideologists is now literal violence. I do love the way the GI activists pop on to scold, use hyperbolic language and throw round accusations whilst making no actual discernible points.

What's literal violence as opposed to common or garden type violence.

Why do they add literal?

NotBadConsidering · 11/12/2022 00:24

They mean literal as opposed to made up.

Saying a man is not a woman is literal violence, not made up violence, honest, guv 🙄.

Hyperbole. They think it adds weight to their "hurty words" argument.

I can't be arsed going back to find the posters quote but I did laugh merrily at the poster who said that using the word "science" in your argument is a horribly offensive slogan used by bad people.

I can't remember the exact phrase they used but that was the gist.

So Facts = Bad then, got it!

This is not just ordinary violence

This is TRA literal violence

From my experience of having friends who have DC that are being pushed into this ideology seem to be the most vulnerable kids in society and those parents are terrified to speak up about it .

Footnote: he wasn't into genderwoo.

Incidentally as a child with a short haircut someone once thought I was a boy. Moment of embarrassment for both. But probably more for me because I hated that haircut my mother enforced. I didn't really think any more of it.

Actually when I was a teenager, I had long hair, falling on my shoulders.

Few times people don't know me addressed me as if I was a girl.

What do you think happened?
Did I need months of counselling to recover from the shock?
Or did I just found it mildly amusing, and forgot about it the next minute?
