When the stakes are this high doesn't it make more sense to hear our story from us?

How irritating to click on a thread and have to scroll down to discover it's about Harry and Meghan. Please amend the title so people like me, who have zero interest in them, don't make the same mistake.

Thank you Xmas Smile

These two pathetic self publicists have zero to offer other than the same whingeing story being rehashed over and over again. How many times can you tell the same story and expect to be taken seriously. Much of the details never add up anyway.

Their Duke and Duchess titles need to be removed. Then they can do whatever they want. Soon people will get bored with them anyway.

If those titles are removed they revert to being Prince and Princess. They'd love that....

Suffrajitsu · 04/12/2022 11:46

I don't fucking care about hearing their "story" from anyone. Do they have no understanding that there are thousands of people in this country living a nightmare because they can't afford food and heating? Why are we supposed to care about how awful it is to have to pay for your own security? If they didn't devote so much time to publicising themselves and their families, any risks would reduce dramatically anyway.

BringItBackBruno · 04/12/2022 11:02

How on earth are the royal family going to handle their attendance at the coronation? They'll be falling all over themselves to be there (along with camera crews) so they can go back and sell the inside story of how hurtful it was that someone looked at them funny......

I wonder if they will be "invited" to focus on Archie's birthday at home in Montecito.
It would be such a distraction if they were there. William would be tense and self conscious, Catherine would be looking in to the middle distance, Harry would have a face like thunder, Meghan would be acting normal with normal-face and nobody would be looking at charles!!

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 04/12/2022 11:49

To address the complaints about why so many threads, I think it's because she is fascinating. It's not very often we get to watch a person so clearly crafting an image and life for themselves in full view. That meghan doesn't seem to realise most people are media and spin savy now and can see through it all is worth a bit of a gawp. It's an armchair psychologists dream. I don't think she deserves the level of vitriol she gets however. Save that for Prince Andrew the true toxic royal imho. Meghan and Harry are just a bit eccentric by comparison.

NextPrimeMinister · 04/12/2022 11:52

I know they are getting paid millions from this (£88 / $100) but is that really enough to completely alienate yourself from your whole family (Harry) and about 50% of the polls?

Doesn't sound enough to me, which they'll find out in about 6 months time. Likely hood it they've had an advance and spent it so will need to bring out more cannon fodder in time for the coronation, and periodically for the rest of their lives.

I imagine they'll end up like Edward and Wallis, living out a half life surrounded by sycophants.

But what 'stakes' could be higher in the world right now than the plight of the Sussexes? Surely you realised what it was about as soon as you read the thread title?!

PeaceJoySleep · 04/12/2022 11:54

There are another of threads because there is a lot of contents to react to.
Some people have no reaction to a Duke and Duchess selling their sad story ad infinitum ok, bully for you, but criticising the general public for having a reaction good or bad to all of their relentless output is not realistic. It's not human nature to have no reaction, no comment, no thoughts, no opinions on how they could have handled this better or worse.

Aubree17 · 04/12/2022 12:05

Bugs me that they claim they want privacy then go all out with a Netflix documentary. Makes no sense.
I have no idea what the stakes are either.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 04/12/2022 12:09

I wonder just how many friends they have? I imagine a lot will be very cautious about what they say and do for fear of being exploited by this shameful pair.
Avaricious and spiteful, verging on bullying now they appear to have their knives out for Catherine.

PhillySub · 04/12/2022 12:20

Since she met Harry I have no doubt that the steaks 🥩 are high. 🤣

Happyher · 04/12/2022 12:21

We should never forget that MM is an actress by trade

2bazookas · 04/12/2022 12:22

I'd rather hear the true version of her stories, from someone who hasn't been caught lying already.

AngeloMysterioso · 04/12/2022 12:23

The stakes would be much lower if only they’d shut up and piss off… but no, they have to keep shoving themselves in front of cameras and microphones, bitching and whining non stop.

CaveMum · 04/12/2022 12:25

diddl · 04/12/2022 09:15

Then Charles would not have, out of coerced duty, married a young woman he did not love. And none of this shit show would have happened.

He would probably have married someone else he didn't love though.

Perhaps better if he hadn't married?

God lord, take that back! Had Charles never married and had kids we’d be looking at King Andrew (should he out live Charles), followed by Queen Beatrice on his death followed by Queen Sienna!

Credible threats to Megan’s life and the lack of security for them and their family for a start.

There are credible threats to all members of the royal family and to celebrity/high profile people.

They had security as working royals.

They chose to go to live and work in america for themselves, and they expected the british or american taxpayers to fund their security?

We don't fund the Beckhams or anyone else in that category. H&M chose to put themselves in that position, and then had the cheek to complain that we weren't funding them and neither was daddy... despite the fact Daddy did for a while and despite millions of ££ inheritance. Ridiculous pair

MM seems to fall out with everyone. She sure knows how to burn a bridge and it's never her doing 🤔. Her perception of everything is alway different and defensive/victimised.

She could do with some decent years of therapy but to benefit from it she'd have to be honest with herself. Very unlikely.

KatherineJaneway · 04/12/2022 07:46

It has to be dramatic wording or no one will watch.

Oh I can guarantee 99% of this thread will - they can't get enough of her 😅

lemmein · 04/12/2022 12:32

Willmafrockfit · 04/12/2022 08:44

H & M should have stayed as working royals
she didnt like being second best
suck it up buttercup
how many times has she been married? and what went wrong with those relationships?
i think majority of british public would back harry over megan and many are worried that their marriage wont last and he will come back with his tail between his legs.

The spite is unreal for someone you don't know 🤦🏻‍♀️

BedTaker · 04/12/2022 12:32

Do they really believe that doing this documentary is going to change people's minds about them?

Harry and Meghan are very divisive. Their supporters and haters fit quite a narrow demographic (supporters are woke, lefty etc and haters are right leaning gammon types). You can't be an Owen Jones type and not like them, and you can be a GB News type and like them, it's the law! Wink

And then there are some ìn the middle who just don't really give a fuck.

I just don't get what they are trying to achieve with all of this, they are never going to find that universal validation that they are apparently so hungry for.

username8888 · 04/12/2022 12:33

This mockumentary is just another attempt to spin their 'story'. Their story is simple. Meghan marries a very malleable naive prince, they spin endless victimhood stories expecting the public to be stupid enough to believe and not fact check, they get increasingly desperate and attemp an endless game of top trumps (failing every time), while the world watches this train crash open mouthed. It is fascinating, more so because Megs doesn't realise people can actually recognise a poor actor.

lemmein · 04/12/2022 12:36

Happyher · 04/12/2022 12:21

A shit one though according to her haters - apart from when they're accusing her of being fake, then she's an Oscar-worthy actress Hmm

username8888 · 04/12/2022 12:36

@BedTaker I can't stand the pair after (like so many others) thinking they were wonderful and a breath of fresh air, and am not a right wing GB news watcher or a wokerei, just an ordinary person.
as for
I just don't get what they are trying to achieve with all of this, they are never going to find that universal validation that they are apparently so hungry for
They are now experiencing the law of diminishing returns in action.

Snazzysausage · 04/12/2022 12:38

As working royals they had,and would have continued to have, royal protection officers. If they are no longer working royals they don't get royal protection officers. Where's the confusion over that? Other very wealthy people pay for their own security if they deem it necessary. That can't be the high stakes Meghan refers to.
