To be really annoyed with Sainsburys?

They sent me a tea towel in the post today. I didn’t ask them too. I neither need or want it. It’s cotton, made in China and is hand wash only. I went on twitter to enquire as to the ethical sourcing of it and whether I could return it to store and they wanted photos? How many tea towel mail shots are they sending that they need a photo? I try to shop ethically and only buy what I need, this got me so cross today!

Maybe an anger management workshop wouldn't go a miss... or think about if there isn't another issue in your life that is making you cross.

Just pop the tea towel to your local charity shop and it could be win win for the charity and the person who wants it.

Is a free tea towel worth getting 'really annoyed' about?

BlusteryLake · 03/12/2022 16:41

I really dislike unwanted crap being foisted onto me, so this would annoy me too. Can you get them to flag you for not receiving free stuff in the post?

You need a hobby

OP has one, virtue signalling 😂

DownToTheSeaAgain · 03/12/2022 16:43

It's a tea towel. Not a used condom. Life is too short to get upset about such things.

User38899953 · 03/12/2022 16:44

I'm sure you can find use for it. It's an odd think to get so worked up about.

I love freebies and and jealous of your tea towel !

It gets better.

check out the OP’s history…. AHe talks about her Disney holiday in Florida, a wedding in the SA, her husband flying back from Amsterdam…. It would seem the OP’s stance on this tea towel is rather at odds with her stance on air travel!

TwoMonthsOff · 03/12/2022 16:45

I would think it would shrink if machine washed so no big deal, everyone uses tea towels, what’s the problem 🤷🏻‍♀️

🤣 So environmentally minded

WhiteFire · 03/12/2022 16:46

It's not great though. Sainsbury's talk about their plans to be carbon neutral and then do something like this.

It’s get worse…. Florida Disney land, Holland, South of France!

CharityShopChic · 03/12/2022 16:48

We like donations of tea towels in our charity shop. Not for selling, but for using in the shop for polishing glassware after washing, or wiping things down. Really useful.

MeJane · 03/12/2022 16:48

A hand wash only tea towel! How absurd.

DonutWorry · 03/12/2022 16:48

You put all your rubbish in your general waste bin? Does it all fit?? Ours only gets collected once every two weeks, there's no way I could fit two weeks worth of rubbish in there. If we didn't separate the recycling/ food waste it would be overflowing

DonutWorry · 03/12/2022 16:49

Sorry, that was supposed to be a reply to @YellowTreeHouse

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 03/12/2022 16:53

We have a tea towel. And bizarrely a chocolate orange from a local church!

I’m a loyal sainsburys shopper. Where’s my fucking tea towel!!

^^^ this! Where's mine? Grrrrr

Toddlerteaplease · 03/12/2022 16:56

I love a freebie, where's mine!

RudsyFarmer · 03/12/2022 16:58

I’d happily have it. My tea towels are manky things. If they sent it my way I’d have been delighted. What

MsFannySqueers · 03/12/2022 16:58

Yes @Ramble0n I humbly request to become a member of the tea towel conservation society ! Some of my late MIL’s tea towels must be forty years old. Anyone else want to join?

Nice work @Feef83 ! I think the OP has disappeared to do a quick name change and disappear backwards into the hedge Homer style.

5foot5 · 03/12/2022 17:02

Another one here who spends a fortune in Sainsburys. Where's my tea towel?

dancingqueen123 · 03/12/2022 17:04

MsFannySqueers · 03/12/2022 16:25

Tea towels you say? I love a tea towel. I am with PP’s. Where’s mine? When we cleared my late MIL’s house we found her tea towel collection. Every time her and late FIL visited somewhere they bought a tea towel from that place. I love using them. Especially the well washed ones they are the best for drying. Sorry just realised that I am coming over as somewhat of a tea towel obsessive.

Love a souvenir tea towel ☺️

dancingqueen123 · 03/12/2022 17:07

I've had about 5 pairs of bamboo socks from BAM this year. Love em.

TwoMonthsOff · 03/12/2022 17:12

I love the retro design ones with onions, radishes, carrots etc printed on them - nowadays seems to be only ‘sausage’ dogs on them

CuteCillian · 03/12/2022 17:18

I was sent a random flannel from RBS a few years back. Then they shut down my local branch, so be warned!
