so been seeing bf for 2 years. he has one son 8 ive two aged 6 and 9. we dont live together. his son lives over 90 mins away. he was to pick his son up today and take him to my home for the weekend. Hes been away for work for a few days so yesterday offered to get us all a big takeaway( from my local town indain or chinese etc) this evening as a treat to save me cooking etc. fast forward to today we usually have dinner at say 4ish obviously didn't knowing we were getting a take-away this eve kids had a small snack. he was picking his little boy up at 6 so wud be 7.30 or later before he got here which was fine. yesterday he said i could ring it in when they were 20 mins away if it suited ... any way fast forward to this eve hes text saying he might just get 40 chciken nuggets out of mcdondalds for us all instead cus hes not hungry.. i said no its fine il just order us something instead meaning me and the kids.. anyway hes come in and ive seen a receipt that fell out and him little boy went into mcds and got large meals mc fluffys the lot... am i being petty or is this just tight as fuck..

Tight as a ducks arse and they're watertight. And a liar to boot. I'll bet he didn't turn up with a bag of groceries for the weekend either. Very unattractive.

Weve had a major falling out over this. didnt think a bloody mc donalds could cause such drama. i was pissed over the food but it was the way he said the they wont starve comment thats really soured me. they left this morning and we havent spoken since bar a few messages calling me a drama queen.. it was just such a ridiculous unneccessary lie to save what at most 20 quid for our food.. he would have happily let me cook for us all any other eve.. its just a really ugly side to his personality for very little reason..

Some men can only keep their 'Mr Wonderful' mask on for so long. His is slipping.

I think you need to really consider how much further you want to watch it fall.

billy1966 · 03/12/2022 19:59

He's mean and you now know he's a liar and nasty to boot.

All the while staying at your house.

Let him move on to another mug, you now know who he is.

He's NOT good enough to be around your children.

Americano75 · 03/12/2022 20:05

Let him find another 'drama queen' to mooch off.

Magicandtragic · 03/12/2022 20:09

You should have left him at the hotel

lamaze1 · 03/12/2022 20:15

Given you were hosting him and his son, a takeaway for you all was the very least he should have done. His attitude towards your own kids sounds poor and I agree with @billy1966 he isn't someone you want around your kids as he won't treat them equally. Also you hosting him and his child diverts your funds away from your own kids.

DunkingMyDonuts · 03/12/2022 20:30

Don't belittle the situation by saying it is "only about a McDonalds". It isn't. He lied and was prepared to let down your children after him and his dc stuffed their faces. He has his own DC so must know how excited yours were to get a takeaway and bless them were waiting from 3pm till 7.30pm.

There is a lot of nastiness, cruelty and powerplay in that act and shows where you and your DC stand.

Carry on standing up for them please, and raise your bar much, much higher
