Were couple in M&S queue cunty fuckers?

DeeofDenmark · 02/12/2022 15:12

Really busy in M&S today, I just had a couple of items to buy. I glanced down the queues and picked the one that looked quickest. There was a big shop on the belt but only one person queuing with one item in her hand.
Just as there was room for her to put her item on the belt her partner turned up with a trolley. I’m not exaggerating to say this trolley was loaded as high as it was possible to load it.
So Aibu to think it is not ok to hold a place in a queue like this?

Nice to know in times of a cost of living crisis that they're able to fill 2 fucking shopping trolleys- at M&S for fucks sake. Bet most of that food will be wasted and thrown away 😟

Maybe it was for a food bank? Irrelevant really.

Someone did it to me in Tesco once. Woman in front of me put her few items on the belt, so I put the divider down & started putting mine down. She noticed what I was doing & said, "Oh no no no, you can't do that!" & an older woman appeared from nowhere with a complete trolleyful which apparently had to go through with the first woman's shop. I objected to the cashier but she just gave me a weak, embarrassed smile.

They're CFs (I used to think it stood for Ccking Fnt, but there we go). They could just as easily split their shop or stand aside for someone.

Wetblanket78 · 03/12/2022 19:24

Yes that is CF they should have said to you you might as well go ahead. You would be through the checkout and out before they are even half loaded up. If I have a big shop in Aldi and there's a couple behind me with one or a few items I let them go ahead. I can't do it for every single person or I would be there all day. But that's up to the store to open another checkout.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 03/12/2022 19:27

Not quite the same situation but it's always tickled me...
I was in a long, slow queue at WHSmith, years ago. We were all getting fed up. Then an elderly gent just ahead of me suddenly declared out loud, "I've had enough of this!". I expected him to give up & walk away from the queue but he didn't. He simply walked right to the front & insisted they served him there & then!

Ladyfrog59 · 03/12/2022 19:33

Just be grateful you can afford to shop in M&S you Jammy C F*!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 03/12/2022 19:40

I do it sometimes. I must be a massive cunty fucker. I'm also disabled.

If I see someone with a couple of things behind me I let them in front. If your face looked like you were judging me as a cunty fucker I'd have left you where you were.

I live in a posh area and it's always men who do this on Saturday mornings when they've got the kids while their wife is doing other things like fucking the gardener.

Once a man in red corduroys said: "Scatter children!" like it was an upmarket Hunger Games. There always at least three floppy-haired children who have inherited sharp-elbowed genes and honed them at public school.

One moppet said: "Look Daddy! They have Merlot!" This is now a saying between me and my husband when we spot posh gits. These days we just look at each other and mouth the word Merlot.

Red-Trousered Men are always rather surprised to be given a firm no at the checkout by a common woman who objects to this practice. I think it gives them a sexual thrill.

Sounds a bit like Waitrose on Friday afternoon in Summer when the Chelskis are heading up to North Norfolk, avoid the Swaffham branch like the plague for a few months.

Green really suits you dear.

Kazzyhoward · 03/12/2022 19:48

Why aren;t you using the self serve tills which are aimed at people with few items.

ButterCrackers · 03/12/2022 19:51

I was at the self service till today and a cf tried to get there before me. She just pushed past the queue. I said loudly there’s a queue and pointed to all the people. She went to join the line.

How does place holding a spot in the line help?
Not being nasty, just genuinely curious. You either have to wait in the queue, or go do the shopping.

LadyMarmaladeAtkins · 03/12/2022 20:05

Just allow enough time to do your shopping when it is busy, or shop online, and stop moaning about breaches of complicated unwritten shopping etiquette OP.

Josieangel21 · 03/12/2022 20:17

I shop a lot in cost-cutting 4 letter supermarkets AL/LI and it's so polite and to let few items through ahead of a trolley. Etiquette there only? Noticed it's unique and quite lovely. Tills are super quick, and banter is good, kindness is a skill. Customer service comes from the top. I'm loath to shop in Marksies foodhall cos I always feel I'm in the way!

limitedperiodonly · 03/12/2022 20:25

@Pants0nFir3 come the revolution, who else do you think should be second up against the wall behind people who shop at M&S Food? Do you have a list? I'm pretty ideological sound but I bet I'm on it. Probably under the category: Lickspittle Class Traitor

Museya15 · 03/12/2022 20:39

Try doing that in the area I live in, youd get your teeth knocked out, Marks or no Marks!

Babysitter12 · 03/12/2022 18:04

Very inconsiderate and disrespectful
I would teach them a lesson by tutting and raising my eyes

Love this 😁

Have been known to fire my shopping on floor in this situation and stomp out... Difficult to return the next day as relative is the store manager.

You've just described a toddler tantrum HmmBiscuit

Because I get to a point and I am knackered. So he says I'll go grab, what ever and come to me at the tills. Then he comes to me at the till. How do you not see that helps? I don't need to walk as far or stand as long?

I did not see how that helps, hence why I asked. No need to get so defensive!

Right yeah. No reason to get defensive being questioned by someone how something helps with my disability. If it didn't help why would I do it?

Because like in the OP, someone with one item queues up and then has someone with a trolley load join them. Anyone behind them in the queue would be wondering why.

Olsi1009 · 03/12/2022 21:11

I hate M&S. Well I hate my local one anyway. The elderly people that shop there are quick to say the youth of today are rude with no manners. I've never met a ruder bunch than the elderly in our M&S. My kids show them up on the regular.

I once had a woman behind me start unloading her shopping on the the belt when I had an almost full trolley left. I just kept pushing hers further back with the divide and shit fell on the floor. Then told her she could have f*Cking waited for me to be nearly finished when she looked at me shell shocked. In your situ I wouldn't have let the guy with the trolley past. CFer!

None of their business is it. Like I said if the person behind had few items I'd let them go ahead anyway. But not if they were sour faced and tutting.

@ZiriForEver

She wasn't ready

Her dh was still shopping and pushed in front of the OP with a full trolley

It was queue bagging and I don't agree with it

Get in the queue when you have finished, a couple of times is understandable

Quoting the OP
*Just as there was room for her to put her item on the belt her partner turned up with a trolley
*

-> She was ready exactly at the time when it mattered, when she got to put her stuff to the belt.

There is no requirement to queue with all your stuff. And there is no reason two shoppers with just one shopping would have to lose their time by queueing together. One place in the queue, one shopping, one payment. Be ready to put the things on the bell.

I understand that the OP is unhappy that her bet for the shortest queue wasn't successful, but that can happen for many reasons, and if the shop doesn't create extra fast queue for small shoppings, maybe the shop doesn't really care about their convenience.
