Does anyone know what these are?! Feeling uneasy

Not an AIBU but posting here for traffic as feeling a bit uneasy.

I am staying in a hotel and I have just come upstairs (back to my room) from the co working space downstairs where I have been for several hours.

Anyway, I have arrived back in my room to find these on my bed??!! I am sure that it's nothing and possibly something housekeeping left here by mistake when they last came a day or so ago and they've found their way to my bed (although I slept in this bed last night and pretty sure they weren't here).

I cannot help but think it's something more sinister and they have been deliberately placed here. Sent my friend a voice note 'joking' that it was a death threat but not entirely a joke! And friend is asleep of course so hasn't yet replied.

I haven't ever seen anything like this before.

Does anyone know what they are or what they could be?

Thanks

God how do people who find things like this 'sinister' get through the days.

IaltagDhubh · 01/12/2022 13:23

You accidentally brushed up against a light box somewhere and have been walking around with a message on your bum all day, casually dropping letters as you walked along. By the time you got back to your room, only the J and the W were left and they fell off when you sat down on the bed.

The only things you really need to worry about was what the original message might have said, and whether you’ve laid a trail of letters straight to your hotel room door.

Stay City hotels use WhatsApp and don’t clean the rooms every day. Nice though.

Its like the nonsense over wind plaits that are supposedly put in horses manes prior to stealing them so the thief knows which horse to steal and the owner knows that a thief is about to come calling 🙄

But to be fair I can see why the OP would be worried when they weren't there on her bed last night.

My immediate thought is that someone fancies you - they’ve left your initial next to theirs as a clue?!
i agree it’s creepy & someone must’ve let them into your room to do so.
Could that be it?

Wtf

Some of you are absolutely batshit

Yes! Yes, that's it! Of course!
Hotels are always letting random creepy strangers into people's hotel rooms so they can do things like place random letters as cryptic clues to their unrequited love.
I've stopped using Premier Inn because of it.

Shelby1981 · 01/12/2022 13:50

I'm thinking that they stuck to your bum (static?) and then you sat down on the bed and hey presto?

My thoughts exactly.

This is marvellous

Matchingcollarandcuffs · 01/12/2022 14:10

Could they have fallen from the ceiling? Any more up there?

Ormally · 01/12/2022 14:27

Likely possibility: a previous guest in that room brought a light box (think hen party or something), and when packing up, dropped those letters somewhere they didn't notice. Housekeeping has now found them and thought they were yours so left them where you see them.

Don't be so sensible, it's obviously the ghost of a mafia don that has run out of horse's heads!
