Does anyone know what these are?! Feeling uneasy

Not an AIBU but posting here for traffic as feeling a bit uneasy.

I am staying in a hotel and I have just come upstairs (back to my room) from the co working space downstairs where I have been for several hours.

Anyway, I have arrived back in my room to find these on my bed??!! I am sure that it's nothing and possibly something housekeeping left here by mistake when they last came a day or so ago and they've found their way to my bed (although I slept in this bed last night and pretty sure they weren't here).

I cannot help but think it's something more sinister and they have been deliberately placed here. Sent my friend a voice note 'joking' that it was a death threat but not entirely a joke! And friend is asleep of course so hasn't yet replied.

I haven't ever seen anything like this before.

Does anyone know what they are or what they could be?

Thanks

Where I live we have light boxes that we can put plastic letters in to spell out a message. These are plastic letters from a light box.

Where do you live? Do you realise these are everywhere?

daffodilandtulip · 01/12/2022 07:05

@bridgetreilly me too! I scrolled down really slowly, expecting gruesome photos!

RambamThankyouMam · 01/12/2022 07:09

If your first thought is that they're a death threat, I think you need to see a psychiatrist...

ladyvimes · 01/12/2022 07:12

Why is this creepy? How ridiculous!

Greeneyegirl · 01/12/2022 07:15

Well it is creepy because the OP said the room doesn't get made up every day and no one has been in for several days.

misssunshine4040 · 01/12/2022 05:37

I wouldn't like this at all.
If you didn't notice them before you went down then and they have only appeared since, I would ask to move room.
It could be something or nothing but you want to feel safe in your room and you could absolutely ask to have different room

Massive over reaction there.

Doris86 · 01/12/2022 07:16

From the title I thought this was going to be something sinister, like a horses head or something. But a couple of plastic letters that have obviously been left by mistake by the cleaners, or a previous room occupant. Seriously? People really do worry and post about the most ridiculous things on here.

poefaced · 01/12/2022 07:22

@doris i think we were supposed to find it ‘woo’

AuntyPeanut · 01/12/2022 07:24

Why would you feel uneasy about 2 plastic letters? I would feel uneasy about mysterious stains on my bedding or different coloured/textured hairs than mine.
How is your thought process to first post on Mumsnet and ask randoms with drip feeds (no my initials aren't JW as an example) and then be so surprised oh good idea I'll speak to reception. One would think this is the first thing you do, Whatsapp or however, to check what this is about not come and post on MN.
Genuinely intrigued how your brain works. Fascinating.

CheekyHobson · 01/12/2022 07:25

The Jehovah's Witnesses left them as a not quite subliminal message?

Haha glad I wasn't the only one who immediately thought that Watchtower must have gotten too expensive to produce and this was a new way of evangelising.

BrimFullOfAsher · 01/12/2022 07:26

It's a reminder that Jesus is Watching. So be careful what you get upto in that bed obviously

FatCatSkinnyRat · 01/12/2022 07:28

Laughing out loud at this thread. Jewelry Winning Jehovahs Witnesses 😂.

Hope you are OK OP.

Suzi888 · 01/12/2022 07:29

They were left behind and just wafted when you shut a door?
Are there anymore?

WonderingWanda · 01/12/2022 07:34

Op, I hope you survived the night. I think it might be naughty elves arriving for December. Ours have been quite rude with the light box this morning!

Maybe the previous occupant left them by the door after maids had run out of do not disturb signs and it meant just wanking 🤣

figmaofmyimagination · 01/12/2022 08:11

Haha I also thought the JWs were cutting Watchtower costs 😁

V odd OP. Did reception respond?

I would presume they have been left by a previous occupant, not spotted by cleaning staff until today - possibly slightly under the bed or something. Cleaners have found them today and put them somewhere obvious for you to find - thinking that they are yours?

This.

It wouldn't even cross my mind to be something sinister!! What sort of hotel is it?!?

TempyBrennan · 01/12/2022 08:59

What sort of hotel only communicates through WhatsApp? Or am I just that out of touch? 😂

AuntyPeanut · 01/12/2022 09:01

I was at an Ibis (UK) lately and they had WhatsApp communication but it wasn't the only method. I can imagine some Air BnBs might? Or maybe a hotel in East Asia?

CourtneeLuv · 01/12/2022 09:22

Placemarking to see the receptions response.

Bookworm20 · 01/12/2022 09:23

The key thing here is, was your room cleaned during the time you were not in it earlier? If not, then you know someone other than housekeeping has been in your room.

Where were they on the bed? Prominently placed and you saw them immediately, or did they fall out when you moved the duvet or something?

Lycanthropology · 01/12/2022 09:27

Greeneyegirl · 01/12/2022 07:15

Well it is creepy because the OP said the room doesn't get made up every day and no one has been in for several days.

But someone obviously has been in, haven't they? Maybe to change towels, top up bathroom dispensers or something.
Or do you really think it was a ghosty? 👻

TrixJax · 01/12/2022 09:29

Definitely agree it the Jehovahs Witnesses getting one up on the Gideon's bibles in the room
