To think not everybody regrets terminating

I am in this situation now and really struggling with this decision, I have an 8 month old DD and just found out I am pregnant. My marriage is very rocky and DH has been staying at his mums, I really wanted my marriage to work so I have been so preoccupied with that, I feel so guilty that I am in this position, but I know I can’t have another baby in this situation, it wouldn’t be fair on my DD.

No regrets for my termination. No sadness.

Later, miscarried between ds1 and ds2. That I was very sad about. Termination no.

@whumpthereitis totally off topic but watch Wednesday if you haven't already :D

That’s the one I just finished 😩

Freshmind001 · 27/11/2022 11:48

@whumpthereitis

Watch 'unplanned' if you want something to watch :)

AllOfThemWitches · 27/11/2022 11:50

I don't, at all. I didn't enjoy it but it was the right decision and I've done it more than once.

Changedma · 27/11/2022 11:50

No, no regrets.

I wasn’t completely sure on my termination and also wrote a pro and cons list. We already had DC, a strong marriage etc but just simply didn’t really want more children… I felt like it would have made everything harder (harder but not impossible and sure we would have coped) - our finances, our marriage etc.

I found taking the pills very difficult and I broke down. After that actually, it was fine. All I have felt in the c 10 months since is just relief. I expected to have bad days with it but I see everything quite clearly now and haven’t had any regrets.

I’m not a bad person and I love my children but we all have limits and that was mine.

What do people mean when they say women shouldn’t ‘take the decision lightly’. For me, I got a positive pregnancy test and I immediately booked the abortion. I gave it about 4 seconds worth of thought, the 4 seconds being “I don’t want a baby”. I didn’t mull over alternative choices, at all. And anyone saying I should have can fuck right off

I completely agree with you. For some reason we are expected to pretend that there is this great sadness and much hand-wringing and we must bow our heads in shame. In reality it's nothing like that for the vast majority of women who simply don't want to be pregnant. It isn't a dirty little secret!

I said I was after at least decent.

Freshmind001 · 27/11/2022 11:55

@whumpthereitis

It's very decent. Might answer a few questions you have.

It's on Amazon prime if anyone wants to watch.

GrandTheftWalrus · 27/11/2022 12:05

I had one earlier this year. Totally the right decision for me and for us as a family.

Same. For me there was nothing to consider. I absolutely did not want to be pregnant.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 27/11/2022 12:15

OP ignore any forced birthers.
I had a termination 20 years ago, never once regretted it. I felt like a weight had been lifted as I walked out that clinic. It was the best thing for me. I don't feel sadness, regret or shame.

RandomMusings7 · 27/11/2022 12:16

@Freshmind001 you're not going to answer my question on why forced birther is not an accurate term for pro life, are you...?

Notimeforaname · 27/11/2022 12:17

Absolutely no regrets 17 years on. Best decision I have ever made.

PiggyInTheLidl · 27/11/2022 12:21

I felt huge relief that I could terminate and felt not a joy if regret or guilt.

It wasn’t the right time, not the right partner.

When it was the right time I rejoiced in having my Dc.

Beezknees · 27/11/2022 12:23

Never had one myself. But I know 100% that if I found out I was pregnant tomorrow I'd be terminating. I have a teen, I'm single and I'm working on my career for the first time in my life.

Your decision and yours alone. I have a family member who had a termination. She was 22, hadn't been with her boyfriend for very long and knew it was the right decision. 10 years on she and her boyfriend are married, homeowners and recently had their first child. This was the right time for them.

Yep, hard agree to all of this .

Bold of you to assume that I’m 1, not familiar with it, and 2, have any questions that could be answered by a pro forced birth movie inspired by a grifter.

Similarly, I don’t hit up Leni Riefenstahl as either a producer of decent movies or unbiased insight.

notsosoftanymore · 27/11/2022 12:25

Many years ago now but I had a termination and I've never regretted it. Sometimes it really isn't the right moment and miscarriages happen all the time too. Good luck and listen to your gut feelings, a baby brings a lot of stress in life however ultimately lovely they might be one day.

I would rather not portray my views on a post where a woman is in a delicate position as OP. If I do that, then I'll have to also give views on why pro-choicer's also get called 'murders'. Pro-life does not have to mean 'forced-birth'. As I mentioned previously this is not the right thread for this. Forced-birth is just making assumptions on every pro-lifer and it's wrong, just as calling pro-choicer 'murders' I'm sure will upset others. If you want answers then I suggest creating a new thread, and people can speculate what they think or believe.

Freshmind001 · 27/11/2022 12:30

@whumpthereitis

It's based on a true story so since you were asking to watch something, I gave you something to argue with yourself over.

Beezknees · 27/11/2022 12:30

Freshmind001 · 27/11/2022 10:57

@LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet

This is not the right post for me to list my reasons. MN is very one sided, and it's too early to have people name calling me because of what my reasons are. I simply wanted to make a point that it was unnecessary to throw shade at Christian's when no one here was trolling her or throwing religious views on why she should keep her baby. There are women here who don't regret and some who do regret. OP already has a big decision to make. That's my input.

It really isn't one sided. There are no circumstances where it's acceptable to be able to force a woman to have a baby that she doesn't want.

Being "pro life" for yourself and yourself alone is fine. But you cannot tell other women what to do with their bodies.

I’m at a loss as to how you’re NOT a forced birthed TBH. Pro life means no access to abortion. That means a woman is forced to give birth to a baby she doesn’t want. In what world is that not forced birth?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 27/11/2022 12:33

Forced-birth is just making assumptions on every pro-lifer and it's wrong

Its correct. Pro life don't want people to have abortions and have body autonomy, they want to force pregnant women who don't want to keep the pregnancy, give birth. Thats forcing birth.

Said as I don’t have you hitting the reply button.

wtf am I gonna argue with myself about? 😂

Freshmind001 · 27/11/2022 12:38

@Beezknees

Of course it's one sided. Someone who is pro-choice will argue a women should get to abort as many times as they want because it's 'their body'. However, if someone who is very much pro-life says well no we know life begins at conception (scientific fact) so there is another life other than the women's, then all the sudden they get thrown to all hells of the world. If a women is going through something as OP has posted or even my own experience, I wouldn't force my views down their throat and try to intentionally make them feel bad. Based on MY views, I could only try to advise and maybe give my views so long ad it doesn't offend them. I know for a fact had I had my termination at the time, I would of regretted it heavily and I wasn't even pro-choice or pro-life at the time. I simply sought counselling and got two perspectives on both sides and made my choice that way.
