@runlittlemonster ask for more! The worst they can say is no! I work in publishing. I also freelance (as my job pays so badly)! I just accept the fee given too! But recently I've had a lot of freelancers pushing back on fees, so I'm thinking of doing the same!

Thank you ♥️ I’ll try it on the next one!

I am 51 and earn 58.5k in public sector managerial role. Excellent pension but no bonus scheme of note.

Husband in private sector role, but with far less line management responsibilities, earns around 10k more and has excellent annual bonus on top plus pension worth 400k currently.

We both have company cars.

polkadotdinosaur · 20/11/2022 19:37

Well this makes me feel lousy so far.
Notice how nobody on 20k-35k comments. Which I daresay is a good third of the population if not more

Quite.

the median uk salary for women (just people on PAYE) is around 27k, so actually well over half of women will be on £35k or less.

Mamai90 · 20/11/2022 20:46

@ZellyFitzgerald your job is one of the most important on here. You are so under paid for the value you are to society, your wage doesn't define you and it's sickening to see some of the salaries on here for much less important jobs. You deserve a HELL of a lot more. That goes for all caring roles.

Again with the 'I earn loads, but LOOK HOW MUCH MONEY MY HUSBAND HAS' blathering.

No-one is ASKING what peoples husbands earn! Why do some women here feel the need to brag about the money their husband allegedly earns/has in savings/in his pension?!

It's actually a bit pathetic and sad. Do you all need your husband to validate your existence THAT much? Sad

Dallimore · 20/11/2022 20:47

Well this makes me feel shit earning £20k at 28 years old, but that’s pretty high for wages round here. Surely op you must realise your salary is far from average

Assuming a FTE of 35 hours that's less than minimum wage (currently £9.50 per hour).
