To finally want Scotland to now LEAVE the UK

Am looking at this new gender bill being debated in Scotland in shock and horror. I just think it is a barbaric attack on women's safety and rights plus kids safeguarding. What on earth is happening Scotland?

Men being allowed to identify as women with no medical assessment and after only 3 months of ‘living as a woman’ - whatever that means. Wearing high heels and lipstick? Certainly they will still have their tackle intact.

Then being able to enter our changing rooms and bathrooms, take our company board places and sports prizes, skew the gender pay gap data and crime data, give intimate care to our vulnerable disabled daughters and elderly mothers. No surprise which type of men will be attracted using this new law to identify as women. Let me spell it out - the violent depraved ones who want to access women and girls.

And voted through yesterday - allowing convicted male rapists to identify as women and enter womens prisons.

And on top of all this - lowering the age of transition from 18 to 16… where is this age lowering coming from I wonder….surely not something more sinister…

To top of off Scotland has deliberately ignored the Cass Report and NHS England on safeguarding teenagers and so is carrying on giving vulnerable teenagers irreversible puberty blockers and breast binders behind parents backs.

And the icing on the cake - when a woman dares to speak out and wear a scarf with the colours of the suffragettes - she gets thrown out of parliament. I feel Scotland has gone back 100 years.

I am scared now this Scottish loophole in law will enter the UK as a whole.

Seriously though, should England have a referendum on whether to cut Scotland off? They want their independence, I say we give it to them after this (without continuing to pay for everything or bail them out like they want us to)

No 'they' don't. The majority at the last referendum didn't. I don't.

Wibbly1008 · 17/11/2022 08:43

insanity is alive and thriving in the Scottish parliament. All the sex offenders will be flocking there.

JudgeRindersMinder · 17/11/2022 08:43

@Prescottdanni123 ”they” don’t want independence. “They” voted against it in 2014, not 10 years ago. Please don’t believe the rhetoric

Prescottdanni123 · 17/11/2022 08:53

@VinoDino @JudgeRindersMinder

No, but if they get get a sniff of England wanting to cut ties and take our money with us, then they will turn on the Scottish government. They are voting for these people after all.

The Scottish government doesn't want England to support them anymore. England should be able to also decide that they don't want to support the Scottish government, especially when it is making up awful laws like that.

awaynboilyurheid · 17/11/2022 08:59

We don’t want independence we voted No in a once in a lifetime vote.
Even with the SNP doing all kinds of things to win votes , using the saltire flag, giving 16 year old the vote, whipping up that your not patriotic if you don’t vote yes etc. Even with all this the sensible intelligent people of Scotland voted against it.
But it’s NS ( our North Korean style esteemed leader)bringing in the gender bill madness not the Scot’s.
And don’t even get me started in the green washing of the Scottish Green Party who are simply now an extension of the SNP

Ginglymostomatidae · 17/11/2022 09:04

If Scotland wants to be independent and do bullshit like this, then it should do.
But it can't keep the pound, nor the financial support from the rest of the UK, such as prescription and uni fees for example.
It wouldn't survive.

Im not scottish ,but male nurse,s and health care assistants have always assisted females wirh personal care ,i worked in Dementia care for years this is not a new thing .

In the trust I worked at, males were not allowed to give personal care to females on their own. They had to be partnered with a female.

Until Scotland get independence then laws like this will pass - it’s like an autocracy. Whipped to vote for these laws. Voters voting them in regardless. The SNP/Green can do what they like until independence happens. And they sure are doing so.

Hence why we need independence for Scotland so some sanity can prevail.

Something about this post set my spider senses tingling and there it is - pushing indy through based on a topic very hot for us women. Bog off Nicola we've got your number.

Ndd135632 · 17/11/2022 09:09

@silverclock222 yep that’s what she’s doing. Independence above ALL ELSE. including woman and childrens rights and safety. She needs the green men on her side for independence and she will do whatever they want to get it. Makes my blood boil as those green men are shady. She can indeed bog off.

Nicola Sturgeon is mad and obsessed with her own agenda of an independent Scotland ruled by her.

The gender legal changes (which she is forcing through by threatening to sack her colleagues) are her way of splitting Scotland from England culturally, to bolster her argument that the two should be different countries. If she hadn’t picked gender ideology she’d be doing it with a different issue.

YABU for helping her do it. Your post is exactly the type of publicity she wants.

What about all the women and girls in Scotland? They deserve protection and support from England not abandoning to a mad bully.

This! Please don’t leave us in Scotland to face this alone, I don’t want independence and never heave, what the political parties are doing to their people up here is horrendous and yet folk keep voting for them!

BloodyHellKen · 17/11/2022 09:27

Personally I'd rather Scotland stayed part of the UK so all women could fight this nonsense together. My main concern is that voters in Scotland are going to turn to the Labour party as a moderate voice (who then could be in position to win a UK general election) and I don't trust them on gender-bollocks or self ID either.

i get what you mean but my issue is that it would cost us too, just the sheer amount of change required. Brexit on steroids as someone put it

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 17/11/2022 09:42

Wont that be too late? Independence wont be instant and when these laws are in place they will be very hard to unwind. Especially if they become part of the foundation for independence. We do still have to fight here and now for women's rights and young people' safety. My guess is that making it very clear that this issue will tip support away from independence would still work better?

Yes - if the EA can be clarified then hopefully it would protect women and children in Scotland to some extent.

God I can't keep up with all the culture war positions. Personally, I'm very GC, a Scot, and a firm No voter.

It is beyond insanity to think we can gain independence then somehow get rid of the SNP, or the policies they've put in place. Anyone who thinks this, please I am asking this in good faith: who should we vote for in an independent Scotland?

What does transphobic even mean these days? It’s such a pointless term now

If safeguarding women and children is automatically transphobic then I'll cheerfully be a terf.

Self-id is the Trojan Horse upon which every predator can hitch a ride. If a trans person is not loudly and visibly protesting that dangerous shift brought about by trans-rights activists then they're no friend to women.

CrystalCoco · 17/11/2022 10:00

I sincerely hope the people of Scotland will view Sturgeon's stance with the disgust and derision it rightly deserves - and I can only pray this will be her (and the SNPs) undoing.

I don't see Scotland being 'woke' enough to accept this BS and frankly we, like the rest of the UK, are sick to the back teeth of the trans agenda being forced like this.

BeethovenNinth · 17/11/2022 10:01

I’m a woman in Scotland. We are trying to fight this. The media isn’t on our side. I don’t want independence, I didn’t even want the parliament. The brainwashing starts in schools.

it’s like living in a banana republic. All the policies and laws are batshit crazy.

we are considering a move south. My family on both sides has been here for generations. It’s unthinkable. But many of us have had enough, the SNP is a cult and not a very smart one,

HopRockers · 17/11/2022 10:05

I'm Scottish & furious at how the SNP have destroyed Scotland. On the specific "gender" self ID horror you might want to look at sign this to give some protection to single sex spaces etc

Can you please explain, in non-emotive terms, why wanting to protect sex-based legal rights is transphobic?

Relevanceiskey · 17/11/2022 10:18

Prescottdanni123 · 17/11/2022 08:40

@x2boys

Yes, but normally female patients are given the choice on whether they want to be treated by a man. Nowadays it seems like if you say you don't want treatment by a transformation, you are accused of being transphobic.

If you want care from a woman and not a trans woman, then fair enough, but if you want care from a man, a woman, but not a trans woman specifically, then surely that is the definition of transphobia...

Are you completely happy with rapists and other convicted sex offenders being able to self ID as a woman with no additional checks and balances?
