What does PP mean, Post partum? Sorry not good with acronyms. If you had a baby recently it could just be some discharge from that, would your community midwife be able to help (posting this with no idea whether community midwives still exist).

Isahlo · 12/11/2022 21:33

I would call your maternity unit. I had retained placenta and reoccurring infection months PL

daisychain01 · 12/11/2022 21:34

Ye gods don't people have any sense of privacy - I can understand showing a Doctor for a diagnosis, but on social media? Really?!!?

Attention-seeking on steroids

Is it a slug?

My thoughts, and slugs are my biggest fear 😧

Nillynally · 12/11/2022 20:28

Oh the overreaction from some people, get a grip.

Isn’t it just. It’s a bit of discharge, pipe down people

Jeeez ye absolute snowflakes. The poor op. She did say graphic picture content warning. What more warning do people want???

Tbf the warnings were added later. But it's nothing to get excited about (at least not now I've seen sporners corner 😂)

This isn’t social media. And no-one has any idea who the poster is, if she really had posted this on her social media that would be embarrassing

It's stray beansprout where it shouldn't be...

Itsabitnotcold · 12/11/2022 21:48

8w pp is an important bit! Green indicates infection, being 8w pp I'd probably check with your midwife/hv/gp, whoever is easiest. Get a swab and check. Ussually I'd say keep an eye on it but being pp an infection could take hold quicker and make you poorlier than usual I think.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 12/11/2022 21:54

moonmoon123 · 12/11/2022 21:23

8 weeks PP, no contraception ( coil appointment is next week ) , no pain or anything

Could be infection then , I'd ring your gp

Are we living in the same country? Do you know what people in the UK have to do right now to see a health service doctor? I'd imagine OP is in for a pretty frustrating few days on hold on a telephone that will not be answered. And it's Saturday, you know.

OldFan · 12/11/2022 22:25

It's probably just mucus, normal sometimes.

I get more if I eat high fibre maybe.

OldFan · 12/11/2022 22:27

I suppose if you don't usually get that and you just had a baby then maybe ask your medical team's advice.

cypresstree · 12/11/2022 22:31

damn, I thought this would be a sporners corner post. If I saw that I'd flush it and not give it a second thought.

Gooseysgirl · 12/11/2022 22:43

I would seek medical attention for this if it is green - usually the sign of an infection of some sort.

I have no social media expect a Facebook I have only posted random quotes and have no face photos except 1 profile pic so would be very concerned for my family and friends if a photo of my discharge was posted by me🤣🤣would definitely question my life choices.
Not wanting attention just have bad health anxiety and thought someone might know what it could be. Can’t get a gp appointment on a Saturday evening xxx

OP posts:
dontgobaconmyheart · 12/11/2022 23:25

I'd not have thought it's anything of particular concern OP - especially if it's a one off. I've not given birth but have certainly passed cervical mucus multiple before that looks similar which the GP put down to existing hormonal issues I was having but wasn't in the least bit concerned about - nor was I to be fair but was already there discussing ongoing issues with an ovarian cyst so it came up.

If you have a fever, irregular or unusual vaginal bleeding or any new pain, unpleasant vaginal odour etc then best to just speak to a professional next week when they are open or speak to 111 if you think it is more urgent than that.

Loics · 12/11/2022 19:49

@MNHQ Could you put some sort of gross picture warning? My already portly self did not need to see that!

This and your reply tickled me 😂
Looks like discharge or bum mucus.

CookPassBabtridge · 12/11/2022 23:29

Some people are so sensitive on here Confused

userxx · 13/11/2022 01:32

@CookPassBabtridge Bum mucus ? I feel like I'm missing out.
