I just wish there was a fair crack for all our sons and daughters to get theses opportunities 🤢

It must be a real kick in the teeth for the beckams! Their kids all appear to be completely talentless and very plain looking to boot.
Even all their money and connections can’t make silk purses out of sows ears!

Holidayexpert · 09/11/2022 12:39

@mycatisannoying Yep, lmao that the moss girl and Noel Gallaghers daughter are models!!

This has become quite a nasty thread with people making rude comments about children of celebrities and how they are 'talentless' or 'nothing special to be a model' etc.
These are ACTUAL human beings. Unless you have personally met these children and know what they are actually like, you really shouldn't be saying such horrible things.

With the wannabe models, we can see whether they look like models, or look like normal people, by comparing them to other models.

It is quite clear that eg the Hadid sisters do have the looks to succeed on their own merits despite their famous parents, whereas others (eg Noel Gallagher’s daughter but there are many others) do not. And these children’s modelling careers are generally just one or two shows rather than regular bookings, so obviously most of the fashion industry agrees.

Most of us do not look like supermodels, it isn’t a personal attack to say that.

I feel sorry for the kids ,though becsuse rather than accepting they are fairly average with no discernible talent ,much like most of the population ,David and Victoria krep trying to buy them careers ,which leads to ridicule

JustDanceAddict · 09/11/2022 12:55

It’s always been not what you know, but who you know to get a leg up. From sixth form work experience to presenting on TV! It’s the way of the world.

VapeVamp12 · 09/11/2022 13:01

Theres a guy who posts videos online of him going up to people with amazing and super expensive cars what they do for a living. He saw Brookyln Beckham in a McLaren (probably £300k car) and said "what do you do for a living?" and Brooklyn said "I'm a chef" 😂

It's like when drs kids get in to study medicine. They naturally have a small headstart as they are aware more what it involves and can get work experience more easily and perhaps maybe see their parents work ethic and work hard or have inherited a natural aptitude towards that particular field of employment. But ultimately they have to proove themselves.

Yes they probably get lots of support financially and guidance from them too

SnitterBug · 09/11/2022 13:03

A lot of police are friends of friends who guide them through the process and tell them what to say at the interview.

Needmorelego · 09/11/2022 13:12

@Holidayexpert see that's exactly what my post upthread is about.
2 of the Beckham children are still actual children (ages 17 and 11) and you are calling them "talentless and plain looking".
Horrible thing to say about children.
Would you like it if I said that about your children (if you have any).

Nobody should be calling them ugly ,but the Beckhams have done themselves no favours by trying to pretend rheir kids are very sucxessful ,photographers ,footballers etc when its obvious they are not

That boy off of 2. 4 children the eldest one with the funny name he is son of Ben Dover and some other famous porn star porn film makers. Helena Bonham Carter related to ex prime minister, others sons of cleaners if you are talking about roman kemp he got there through talent and hard work not his popstar parents if you're talking about famous for being famous on the other hand like tori spelling, thingy Beckham and Paris hilton that's another story

Tyger Honey Drew is from Outnumbered.
But I'd say he's made it in spite of what his parents did.

MushroomQueen · 09/11/2022 13:27

Greg James from Radio 1 - He was in my class at Uni- he did the university radio station and ended up there. Matt Smith was in the year above me at the same university, you can work your way up to things if you're good enough. Don't worry about famous people, kids can find their way if good enough.

Holidayexpert · 09/11/2022 13:44

@Needmorelego I wouldn’t put my children in the public eye, every chance I got, and try to buy them careers, when it’s obvious that they have no talent and are plain looking children!
That’s what you get when you splash your kids all over social media!
if they dont want the comments then they can live their life away from the public glare. Simple! They are both media whores though, so I doubt this will happen.😀

They dont always though ,i went to school with Lisa Riley she was always loud and bubbly i remember watching her in a school play when she was about 14 and she was very good but theres were other kids equallly as good in it and they are not soap stars now .

Holidayexpert · 09/11/2022 13:48

The reason why I mention them being plain looking is that BB was supposed to be a model, and now the beckhams are rumoured to be trying to get the youngest one in to modelling and she is definitely not model material, just like her brother!

How do you know they wanted them to be footballers or singers? Do you know them? How do you know its a kick in the teeth?

Holidayexpert · 09/11/2022 13:53

@NCFT0922 Sorry yeah, they wanted them to be surgeons and human rights lawyers😃

NCFT0922 · 09/11/2022 13:54

@Holidayexpert I’m sure they told you that last time they saw them. There is a middle ground, you okie. Silly you.

The BBC should not hire anyone related to a current or former employee.
Well that's the Dimblebys, the Attenboroughs and the Snows done for then.

I sort of agree with both of you!

I've thought about this a lot over the years and I really do think that the BBC shouldn't hire relatives of its current staff. Yes, in days gone by, that would have ruled out the Dimbleby brothers...though I think not the Attenboroughs, because only David has really been an employee - Richard was an actor/director and was never on the staff (correct me if I'm wrong.) So (thank Goodness) St. David is off the hook for nepotism - he IS the BBC to me.

(Having said that, although I find him smug, I had to admit through gritted teeth that David D is superb at this job - but that's not the point, is it?)

There are so few openings that it would be fair to say - you can't apply to the BBC is your relation is an employee. Unfair to a handful of people, but much fairer to thousands more.

CulturePigeon · 09/11/2022 14:03

Re the Beckhams - you can look at it another way. Mum and Dad are so rich that the children are free to pursue their own careers without worrying about paying the rent. For example, if they want to work as artists, craftspeople etc etc, they can do that and won't need to balance the books. I'd love to be in that position.

They don't need a media career - they can enjoy their private lives and still have loadsamoney!

NCFT0922 · 09/11/2022 14:06

@CulturePigeon exactly.

They don’t need to be surgeons, footballers or whatever else was suggested upthread. They have the absolute luxury of never having to worry about paying the gas bill or putting food on the table whilst pursuing whatever hobby or interest they wish to. Our own children will never have to worry about buying a home or paying a mortgage. It is a complete luxury that many will never understand.

Look on Romeo Beckhams ,wikipedia page it describes him aa a " professional ' British footballer🙄
Just because you play for a team that Daddy part owns doesnt make you a " profesional " footballer, its laughable
As for Cruz Beckham hes described as a singer ,he released a xmas single in 2015
I enjoy true crime ,it fascinates me ,i dont now describe myself as a Criminologist

PinkArt · 09/11/2022 14:13

Well said, @Catscatsandmorecats. First hand advice from people working in the industry would be invaluable if the OP's son was interested in working in it.
On the offchance anyone on this thread is looking at how to actually get into the TV industry, for themselves or their kids, the website www.tvwatercooler.org and the facebook group People in TV: Runners are both a brilliant place to start. They were both set up by a team trying to level the playing field at entry level, to help reduce some of the type of nepotism discussed on this thread.
