To ask how many radiators you have in your house?

Just read a thread where someone has 16 in a 4 bed house, several people were shocked they had so many. So how many do you have and what size house?

3 bedroom 3 storey house here with 16 radiators so I don’t think the same amount in a 4 bed is a lot but maybe my house has above average number of radiators.

1 kitchen
1 downstairs wet room
2 living room
1 hallway downstairs
2 middle floor landing one each end hallway is long and wide 4mx2.5m
2 middle floor back bedroom
1 middle floor bathroom
1 middle floor front bedroom
1 3rd floor landing
2 3rd floor bedroom
1 en-suite
1 dressing room

12 radiators and 3 large heated towel rails.

4 bed 2 storey house. We don't have any radiators in the kitchen or upstairs landing though.

24 and a significant proportion of the ground floor is underfloor heating, so you could probably add on another 9 if we didn’t have that. Large, 3 storey house.

ChocolateTea · 05/11/2022 20:08

2 bed terrace

1 x front room
1 x dining room
1 x hallway
1 x bathroom
1x each bedroom

so 6. Been here ten years and never missed one in the kitchen, would feel weird to have one in there I think! Had the central heating Redone about five years ago and was asked if I wanted one in the hallway. If the stairs/front room weren’t open plan I wouldn’t have bothered. But now we’ve started replacing windows and external doors I don’t think it will be needed much this winter tbh

Never thought about it. We have
21 radiators
3 towel rails
1 'real' fireplace

peagreenleaf · 05/11/2022 20:47

In a large house. But I do turn off the ones I don't need on.

Oldraver · 05/11/2022 20:52

13,

Rocketpants50 · 05/11/2022 20:54

4 bed, 2 bathroom 1930's semi. 6 radiators and 2 heated towel rails. We took hall one out. So only have 2 downstairs plus the towel rail.

We are quite warm blooded I think and we don't like a hot house.

Love a big thick duvet though!

SimplyTheBus · 05/11/2022 20:55

We have none. 3 bed flat, only underfloor heating.

AlwaysLatte · 05/11/2022 21:10

16, but a separate part of the building has an air source heat pump so no radiators in those rooms. Heating is still off at the moment apart from one hour in the mornings and all the radiators have thermostatic valves so unused rooms are kept switched off until needed. One log burner going most evenings so hopefully will keep the heating off for a while longer!

BettyOBarley · 05/11/2022 21:11

4 radiators. And I dont know why but the largest one is in the hall and not the biggest room.
1 heated electric towel rail that I have never used and put in by previous owners.

Darbs76 · 05/11/2022 21:24

Norugratsatall · 05/11/2022 21:25

16 in a four bed house plus conservatory.

Changerofthename1 · 05/11/2022 21:27

This could be an extremely dumb question please forgive me if it is but if I get extra radiators installed beyond the installation cost is it gonna cost any more money to run them on the basis that if the water is going round the system anyway and heating up does it make that much difference ?
