We’ve had 1 but a friend in another area has had loads. Hope we haven’t bought way too many sweets

Nope 😁
For the first time in 2 years the sign on the door saying please no trick or treaters has actually worked! 🙌🙌

PolkaDotMankini · 31/10/2022 20:50

We've had about 30 total. That's about normal. We're turned off the lights and drawn the curtains now.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 31/10/2022 20:52

Loads. After a few years (even before covid) of having excess stock, we "sold" out really early and I had to supplement the trick or treat supplies with the lunchbox treats. So nice to see so many polite kids having a great time.

In our old house, we never partook in trick or treating, but one year we literally had all the lights off to watch a movie, no decorations up, and people were hammering on the door all evening. 😑 People trick or treating doesn't bother me, but why knock on the doors of people who clearly aren't taking part. 😩

Ohdofuckofdear · 31/10/2022 20:56

We had about 100 tonight and they've all been really lovely.

We've blown out the candles in the pumpkins now and taken the decorations down.

Till next Halloween👻🍅

Ohdofuckofdear · 31/10/2022 20:57

Looking now that may be a tomato and not a pumpkin 🤣

User57713 · 31/10/2022 20:59

We had about 100. But last Friday, not tonight.
Our town always has Halloween on the last Friday in October. Which is much more sensible than a Monday!

Hope it's all over for the rest of you now, I always breathe a big sigh of relief when it's 8.30pm and the decorations all come in.

Mommabear20 · 31/10/2022 20:59

@Loics exactly! We always used to have some sweets in and happily give them out, but since we have had our DC and the dogs bark whenever someone knocks on the door, it's not something we feel we can partake in at the moment. In a few years when DC are older and going to bed later, we'll gladly take part again but what's so hard about reading a big sign that says NO!

Elphame · 31/10/2022 20:59

None here but the house is well set back and we don't have any decorations visible.

The new estates are busy though.

About eight sets. DD (2) lost her mind with excitement seeing the chocolate bowl come out each time. She ended up just having milky ways and fudge bars for dinner (also had an early tea at nursery so not the end of the world). Then I had everything that was left in the bowl after taking the pumpkin in so I can't talk I guess

Answerthedoor · 31/10/2022 21:00

We had loads - probably over 50 - we didn’t run out of sweets I just turned the lights off at 7:15

Allmyaarrgghandpeggymartin · 31/10/2022 21:49

We had 12 sets in the end, all lovely polite kids. Great to see them enjoying themselves. Had a nice chat with all the neighbours too, it’s ridiculously mild here.
Looking forward to bonfire night next and then it’ll be time to get Mariah and Micky B out of the deep freeze! 🎄
