We’ve had 1 but a friend in another area has had loads. Hope we haven’t bought way too many sweets

TheFlis12345 · 31/10/2022 17:57

About a dozen so far then it started absolutely pelting down with rain, hope that’s not it for the night as we spent ages decorating and have loads of sweets left.

torthecatlady · 31/10/2022 17:58

We usually get less than 10 all night, but I've been up and down off the sofa like a Yo-yo the last hour. Will probably run out of chocolate soon.

AmberGer · 31/10/2022 18:03

Loads but we always do. One bag of skittles and one bag of Cadbury treat size gone already
Good job I bought 3 bags of each.

Whadda · 31/10/2022 18:04

Just had our first two- a floating head and a zombie footballer.

We’re very rural so not expecting too many.

Ohuhu · 31/10/2022 18:05

I've had four, all very small, cute and polite.

spiderontheceiling · 31/10/2022 18:05

First (very little) one came at 5.00. Still a few more until 5.30, then more regular and am expecting a steady stream from now on. 40 sweets given out so far. 110 to go...

Zilla1 · 31/10/2022 18:07

About 50 so far but does seem quieter than recent years. Far fewer little ones (pre-primary and primary aged) than previous years. Much fewer decorations in the shops than previous years and hardly any houses locally are decorated and lit than previous years.

PuttingDownRoots · 31/10/2022 18:08

Over half the box gone now. DDs home so they've taken over

(They got more than enough in the 30mins they were out according to them so they came home. They've "shared" with me aka overloaded the stuff neither likes.)

feellikeanalien · 31/10/2022 18:10

Just a group of three girls but we're in a small village so not likely to get too many. I forgot to buy sweets but luckily we have a bottomless tin of Haribo and some sweets that DD got for her birthday and didn't eat!!😁

mum2jakie · 31/10/2022 18:10

Loads but it's absolutely pissing down here!

Batshittery · 31/10/2022 18:10

Absolutely loads. I don't decorate but I have very small ceramic pumpkin with a tree light in but it must be like some mega beacon! First knock was at 5.15 and it hasn't stopped since. They were queuing at the top of the drive at one point Halloween Shock 2 knocks whilst writing this post and I've nearly run out

Batshittery · 31/10/2022 18:11

No rain here yet

BiscuitLover3678 · 31/10/2022 18:11

Only 1! I hope we get more.

stargirl1701 · 31/10/2022 18:14

We've had 8 guisers so far including a super cute 2 year old skeleton with a fab joke!

mamabear715 · 31/10/2022 18:16

Just one little girl (with mum & dad!) first one in three years. :-)

Catslovepies · 31/10/2022 18:16

What time does it usually finish? We have a Ukranian family staying with us and I need to advise them as they don't really have Halloween back home. I think they could trick or treat up to around 8 or even 9pm at a push...what do you think (I can't remember from previous years)?

maranella · 31/10/2022 18:16

We've had about 10. We live on a main road, so we always get a few.

stargirl1701 · 31/10/2022 18:17

I blow the candles out at 8.30pm.

TheKeatingFive · 31/10/2022 18:19

Yup. Including a teeny weeny, slightly overwhelmed Spider-Man who looked like he couldn't believe his luck when given a fun sized box of smarties 🤣

PinkHeadphones · 31/10/2022 18:19

More than usual I would say - the houses round here have had decs up for a week so I think it has made more kids want to do it because it looks exciting. Mostly we have had skeletons. One boy by himself with no costume at all. Mostly polite and taking one sweet, one large group started taking more than one each and I said “one! Just one!” and the mum told me they didn’t speak English, so didn’t understand…they did say thank you though, so that was nice.

BMW6 · 31/10/2022 18:20

About 24 so far

blackberrybat · 31/10/2022 18:24

A lot of the houses near us, us included, put bowls of treats out but have a sign on the door not to knock as nervous dogs / babies sleeping / working etc. Its always worked fine in previous years but tonight we've discovered that a gang of older kids has already gone round the estate and cleaned everyone out in one go. So annoyed. Luckily it's raining hard now!

PuttingDownRoots · 31/10/2022 18:25

I'm out, pumpkin in, lights out.

lobsterkiller · 31/10/2022 18:26

I've only had five, two are the smalls from next door! I've only got a tin of sweets so hopefully I have enough for everyone. it has started raining too.

HarlanPepper · 31/10/2022 18:28

It's a big deal where we live so we've had the ravening hordes already and have already run out. I made up 50 individual sweetie bags and they're gone, plus an emergency mega tub of Swizzels. It's mental.
