Help! Nowhere to park!

I know someone will come along and tell me I need to move to a house with it's own parking space, but those are few and far between and way out of my budget where I live! I've lived in my house for 6 months and never had this happen. I can't park! I have a 4 year old asleep in the car and I can't find anywhere within my permit zone to park. I've never seen it so busy. I'm currently sat in my car on double yellows in the hope that someone will move but at this time of night it's unlikely. What do I do? Pay for overnight parking and get a taxi? Can't really afford that but might have to. I could cry right now. I'm so stressed out. Been driving round the permit zone intermittently in the hope that someone will move for the last 45 mins but no joy.

Did you dredge up posts by other users and/or remark to the thread that specific contributors are ‘nasty’ based on what you have read on other threads? If so, you are one of the posters that I’m talking about. I’m not trawling back through the thread making lists of user names, so you’ll need to work that out for yourself.

That's good, because it was a really tough spot she was in, which could only have been resolved by paying for overnight parking or a taxi home, and she had no money to afford that due to being totally skint.

Can anyone order an Uber for someone else? Because that's what I would do, if a friend found themselves in a similar predicament.

@BretonBlue - apparently I've poked a wombat on another thread at some point despite not recognising their name. I must have poked hard due to the emotive words used here and how they won't let it go (never done the cross post thing before so its not that). Either that or intru is their best friend 🤔

stalking someone
dredging up posts
generating such bile that you search for that poster
fuels a stream of invective and spite,

Iamthewombat · 31/10/2022 16:12

Nope, sorry! I don’t recognise your name. Or Intru’s. Don’t let that stop you being spiteful, though.

I'm glad you found a space at last @Guessie . I grew up in a street (of many similar streets) or terraced houses with residents' parking in S London. They'd mostly been turned into flats, and we were right in the edge of the borough. We used to say that we had a "permit to look for a parking space in Wandsworth". My dad was disabled, and we had many long wheelchair pushes back for distant perking spaces on a Sunday evening - and dawn dashes to get the car back from being parked illegally or in Lambeth.

Why didn't you ask the council to mark off a "DISABLED" space for your Dad in front of his home?

The problem with marking a space as disabled is anyone with a blue badge can use it. It wouldn't just be for their dad to use as it's not designated for one address.

WiddlinDiddlin · 31/10/2022 19:40

@BaffledShopper you know those can be used by anyone with a blue badge, and are not reserved for a named person right?

Hi all,

We are closing this thread now as it does not seem to be helping anyone as some of the responses are breaking talk guidelines and have not been in the spirit of the site.
