Really feel good films

I am so hungover today, got a presentation tomorrow which I am dreading, however, I am prepared for it. I am going to order a take away today and totally chill, drink lots of water and have a long shower tonight hoping I wake up feeling better tomorrow, or at least less anxious.

I need some feel good films along the lines of the blindside, the help, the pursuit of happiness etc.

Could anyone please recommend?

@BiggerBoat1 also came here to say Hundred foot journey. The big sick was also really good.

Hope everything went well with the presentation.

The Birdcage with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane, about a bickering gay couple who run a nightclub in Miami. So, so funny, and not depressing in the least.

Sorry!

Doesn’t matter, it’s interesting.

Agree that it doesn't matter when threads like this get resurrected - it's still relevant and interesting!

Bridesmaids. Watched for the first time on a flight recently and loved it.

Worth watching just to see Gene Hackman in drag.

Unbearable weight of massive talent.

I am completely biased but have tested it on less biased people.

Oh and Crazy Stupid Love watched in same circumstances as above. Steve Carrel, is in it nuff said.

NeelyOHara1 · 14/06/2023 18:55

Parenthood, with Steve Martin and Mary Steenburgen. But it never seems to get shown anymore, at least on free channels..

ohfook · 14/06/2023 18:57

Pride. Purely for the final scene.

melisma · 14/06/2023 18:58

I rewatched Parenthood at the weekend, one of my all time favourite 90s movies. I still love it - plus it has the bonus of a teenage Joaquin Phoenix showing his acting skills even at such a young age!

I watched a movie last night called ‘Renaissance Man’ starring Danny Devito and a young Mark Wahlberg and I absolutely loved it. It had the most feel good ending ever.

3luckystars · 16/06/2023 15:20

I have never seen Muriel’s Wedding, I’m going to watch it tonight.

My vote is for Billy Elliot, what an amazing film. I love it.

Eagle VS Shark. Not what it sounds like. A Jemaine Clement oddball love story.
