Really feel good films

I am so hungover today, got a presentation tomorrow which I am dreading, however, I am prepared for it. I am going to order a take away today and totally chill, drink lots of water and have a long shower tonight hoping I wake up feeling better tomorrow, or at least less anxious.

I need some feel good films along the lines of the blindside, the help, the pursuit of happiness etc.

Could anyone please recommend?

Walter Mitty (the Ben Stiller remake).

Working girl

I watched Muriel’s Wedding when I had Covid recently and while I still really liked it and the ending is good, it’s not ALL feel-good at all - the dad is horrible, the mum breaks your heart and the best character gets cancer.Sad

Wonderful Life or The Shop Around the Corner for me. You’ve Got Mail if necessary instead of the latter.

I don't get the MW hate or disagreement its a feel good film in the context of the thread.

The OP asked for feel good films like The Blindside or The Help. Neither of these examples are light and fluffy all the way through and neither ALL feel-good.

Working Girl! Best 80s movie of them all and 'Let the river run' is one of the most uplifting themes ever!

megletthesecond · 23/10/2022 14:55

About a boy.

Justcashnosweets · 23/10/2022 14:59

My go to's are
The Full Monty
Moonstruck
The Burbs
Sense and Sensibility
Sleepless in Seattle.

MrsBunny2018 · 23/10/2022 15:22

The Shop Around the Corner.. probably my all time favourite film and a bonus that it's also Christmassy 😊

OoooohMatron · 23/10/2022 15:29

Forest Gump. Heartbreaking in parts but I absolutely love it. We're the Millers is hilarious.

Pinkittens · 23/10/2022 15:30

Crazy Rich Asians is a great film - lots of romance, drama and amazing clothes!
The Christmas Prince is cute.

Pinkittens · 23/10/2022 15:32

Also like Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers and Daddy's Home for comedy.

Oh and Legally Blonde of course. That's a great Sunday afternoon film.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 23/10/2022 15:32

The Sound of Music
Mary Poppins
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
The Full Monty
The Railway Children
The Greatest Showman

You could put on a Christmas movie early!

Rosio · 23/10/2022 15:35

Try Love Hard on Netflix! It's a Christmas film I suppose but I enjoyed it and have watched it twice and it's not Christmas yet 😂 there's a good version of Baby it's Cold Outside in it which was the highlight for me

NeelyOHara1 · 23/10/2022 19:15

Punt for Parenthood here. Not particularly relevant to your situation though, lol.

Illbeready · 23/10/2022 19:16

Any Hallmark film!

bringincrazyback · 23/10/2022 19:25

If you don't mind a Christmassy one, Nativity is one of my go-tos. And Love Actually.

blippi123 · 23/10/2022 19:26

Shawshank Redemption

I watched Muriel's Wedding for the first time recently and I just don't get it. And I LOVE Toni Collette.

I really don't like Toni Collette... I have no idea why - she just really irritates me for some (probably irrational) reason. Same with Bill Nighy and Emma Thompson.
I've been told to watch films staring these actors (I'd love them apparently) but I just can't!
