Celebrate YABU
Not celebrate YANBU

I believe the etiquette is to immediately start a whiny thread on MN about it but not check for other whiny threads first. And tell everyone off for calling him Boris as ‘he’s not your mate’.
Then share the same meme a million times.

I’ll probably just go to work as normal.

MadeInChorley · 23/10/2022 12:21

I’m trying to do something. Put my anger to use. I have joined another political party and will campaign locally with them their manifesto and on the platform of ABAT - anything but a Tory, after all they’ve put us through. If there’s a wave of demonstration, I’ll march and make a banner.

Fenella123 · 23/10/2022 12:23

Put popcorn on the supermarket order and see if there's another "lettuce" stunt

I would be disgusted at the Tory Party. They know he is a lying, cheating, grotbag who holds his colleagues and the electorate in deep contempt, and if they still choose to vote for him it tell me everything I need to know about their moral compass and their values. Imagine giving your stamp of approval to that. No way in a million years would I vote Tory with Johnson at the helm. No way.

I will (not would, as I think it’s going to happen) be disgusted too, but I will definitely not be surprised. It’s exactly what I’ve come to expect from them. I’ll be far more surprised if he isn’t PM this time next week.

Good to hear this. Though if you really want your vote to count look into whether tactically a Lib Dem or Labour vote is the best placed in your constituency - if you have a Tory MP who needs removed.

This. I was always a Lib Dem voter previously but where I live now only Labour can beat the Tories.

Re Boris Johnson returning, I will be disgusted, but I’ll carry on with my life until I can vote against them again in a GE, whenever that might be.

AngelinaFibres · 23/10/2022 12:31

I voted Conservative last time ,not because I particularly wanted them to be in power ,but because I was absolutely horrified at the prospect of Jeremy Corbyn and the vile people behind him getting into power. Ed Milliband before him was awkward, hopeless and I couldn't vote for him either. Kier Starmer comes across so badly. He isn't as awkward as Liz Truss but he isn't far off. I get the impression that he and his team have practised his sound bites over and over in some back room before he is allowed out. He fires his key phrases out with the emphasis in the wrong place. I think a lot of people who say they will vote Labour will put a cross next to the Conservative candidate when they get into the booth.

We'll hopefully if he does it will tear apart the Tory party and end them for good which would be cause for celebration 😅

Swear, feel worried and frustrated, otherwise carry on as normal.

BigWoollyJumpers · 23/10/2022 12:52

Despair!

Wishiwasinmalta · 23/10/2022 12:57

Laugh.

balalake · 23/10/2022 12:58

I am hoping at 2pm or shortly thereafter we find out that will not be a possibility, as there are not 100 MPs supporting him after all.

LucyLastikk · 23/10/2022 12:59

Up sticks and move to mainland Europe. Oh, wait ... 😞😡

Wishiwasinmalta · 23/10/2022 13:02

It’s worrying how out of touch with reality and away with the fairies these MP’s are whilst they are preoccupied with their own far fetched and unrealistic personal dreams.

1982mommaof4 · 23/10/2022 16:51

I'll be happy 😊

Quveas · 23/10/2022 16:54

Pack. Get on the first plane out of here, provided it isn't going to Russia.

Some of us still have European passports. Mine wasn't a result of Brexit as I'd had an Irish passport since the age of 18. But I am very glad I have one!

Dancinginthebasement91 · 23/10/2022 17:21

Be hopeful that the majority of the public will be unhappy enough not to vote Tory at the menu election. Worst case scenario would be a leader who gives some credibility. Johnson is a great choice.

Dancinginthebasement91 · 23/10/2022 17:22

Next election, not menu, obviously

LaGioconda · 23/10/2022 17:27

Wait to see how many Tory MPs are honourable enough to leave the party.

BMW6 · 23/10/2022 17:27

Those calling for riots, can they please, for a change, riot somewhere affluent? Chelsea, Mayfair, Islington? Anywhere other than the poorest areas that usually suffer the damage.

Frazzled2207 · 23/10/2022 17:29

Roll my eyes but be optimistic that things will disintegrate further to the point that the only way forward is a general election.

girlfriend44 · 23/10/2022 17:33

Just accept it of course.

SuperCamp · 23/10/2022 17:34

Againstmachine · 23/10/2022 11:42

I will get on with it, the same way the majority of posters on this thread will do, despite all the talk of protests and marches.

Exactly this , I will get on with it and so will a lot of posters on this thread.

How do you know what the majority of people would do?

Many thousands March and demonstrate against Gvt actions they don’t agree with.

I would absolutely be out on the streets. So would all my friends.

OneTC · 23/10/2022 17:36

Doesn't really make any difference at this point does it? Whoever comes in now won't be there for very long.

The fact he's supposedly even a consideration, after having just resigned over a sex abuse scandal, shows how much credibility the party has left. Imagine you couldn't find anyone better than that from 357 people apparently competent enough to be involved in running a country Grin

Againstmachine · 23/10/2022 17:37

I said posters on this thread I didn't say majority of people so your reading comprehension is Poor.

Most on this thread talk a lot but don't follow through, how many people say leaving country if Tory's won in past oh yeah.
