As title really. Just wondering if, on an anonymous basis, the results here would reflect what I’m hearing around me in real life.

Would you personally like to see Boris return to being PM?

YABU - yes
YANBU - no

(There’s no bias in the choice of which is unreasonable - I just had to pick one!)

The fact that BJ says he has over 100 declarations but hasn’t offered any proof of that speaks volumes if you ask me. (A) that Boris is back to his old tricks of not being transparent and truthful and (B) he is not as popular as his supporters and friends in journalism would have us believe.

That is what I am hoping anyway!

PilatesWife · 23/10/2022 21:23

Good news, but I am genuinely surprised as I thought he’d be like the Hydra.

Does this mean a shoo-in for Rishi then?

Fromthedarkside · 23/10/2022 21:25

Latest news - Boris has pulled out !

DesMoulinsRouge · 23/10/2022 21:28

Cheered me right up that news

TheTantrumoftheToddlerIsThere · 23/10/2022 21:53

Thank fuck for that

Cannot believe that anyone with the slightest idea of government, economics and political knowledge could ever seriously believe that Johnson would be even remotely good for the country.

He's a proven liar.
Which alone makes him singly unsuitable for any public life.

However over and above that untenable character flaw. The privilege committee starts the 2 month sitting of oral evidence into the then PM and wether he lied to the house. Something he would have to resign for if found to have done so.

2 months of that up to Christmas will be the antithesis of a stable government and will crash the economy into the wall at high speed.

Talking to friends neighbours and family - there have been some (maybe 4/20) who would like to see him back. However when asked why - all they can say is 'he's a bit of a laugh'... when questioned about the economic/stability issue - not one had any idea or opinion about the privilege/economic issue.

Johnson supporters seem to be entirely wrapped up in a cult around a charismatic figure... without any self realisation that that has NEVER been a way to elect a leader.. never ever forget, Hitler was elected.. through popularism . As was Trump..

Johnson said that he did have 102 supporters but we didn’t know some of them because they go to a different school.

MangyInseam · 24/10/2022 00:41

I would not doubt he had that many supporters, but I also am not surprised he is not going to go for it. If he didn't realize himself I am sure someone would have made it clear that wan't a tenable idea.

TBH, I suspect that maybe there was a whole different purpose for that exercise. If he really has that kind of support, whoever he throws his support behind could have a real advantage
