Any Tory voters here who are switching to Labour this time?

Curious because I think this rarely happens and I can't see Labour getting in, I don't think Tory voters change their mind. Am I very wrong? Do you/have you?

The idea that people would already know their voting intentions is a clear indicator that you don't think their manifesto has any relevance.

Why is that?

Tegelflughafen · 21/10/2022 16:08

@RedAppleGirl read the labour party manifesto ? Go off the current government's record ? Is the UK after 12 years conservative government in a good place ?
I guess it depends where you live. Leafy suburb in Windsor, all's well no doubt, grotty northern town, maybe not so positive...

Know many 20 somethings in continuous gainful employment with an actual contract , sick pay , holidays etc ?

Yep - All of DD's friends and all our relations. I suppose it depends where you live maybe??

I think it does come down to where you are

In my circle of friends i don't any whose children aren't in employment or education. One 23 year old is on 75k! Not one of mine unfortunately

You need to visit some of the countries I have done to get ‘good times’ into perspective!

I'm sorry @Kellie45 these ' Why don't you go and live in your darling Russia ' Jedi tricks do not work here!

Newcatbrowntail · 22/10/2022 09:07

Isn’t it telling that the conservative and labour supporters are willing to engage on these threads , however, Lib Dems, and Greens are missing. Do you think party HQ have dismissed Mumsnet as a source of info/votes.
Think we’re a bunch of silly women whose votes and opinions don’t count.

👏 reminds me of our 'heroic' protestors, who won't go and protest in China nor Russia. Funny that. Empty vessels.

In fairness I wouldn't go and protest in the USA either

Yes, quite a few.

I also know firms who have vacancies p/t & f/t who offer training, company vehicle etc who can't get staff.
The theme I keep hearing is "the kids just don't want work".

Skilled tradesmen are like hen's teeth around here.

That's my point! Yet those countries are the worst for oppression.

SuspiciousHedgehog · 23/10/2022 06:34

Every time I read someone say they will never vote tory again, I get a warm glow.

I have never even contemplated it, but I did once believe in the Lib Dems. That was a BIG MISTAKE.

Recognising the error of your ways is admirable,
Thank you to everyone who will never vote Tory again 💐

If there is a GE I will read the manifestos and then make a decision.

How else would anyone sensibly make a decision ?

I mean, do people just have some sort of blind allegiance to one side or the other and vote for them no matter what ?

🤣 because we all know how honest politicians are and how they'll ensure their manifesto is stuck to. 😂

Or there is only 2 of them 😂

Jedsnewstar · 23/10/2022 10:46

There will not be a GE. Why would the Tories allow this when they know they won’t win.
