Tories are NOT on the side of women

I know the defence of Tories here often is 'at least they know what a woman is' - and they do.

But they use that knowledge of what a woman is to make our lives worse. Over 100 Tory MPs voted against a buffer zone on abortion clinics. They know we're adult human females, who can get pregnant, and they vote to allow us to be harassed because of that.

I'm also GC, and do not believe you can change sex. Gender - sure, I don't care how anyone wants to present or what they want to be called and am happy to oblige - but some things are separated on the basis of sex and should remain that way regardless of presentation.

That said, Tories are not on the side of women, and you need to he aware of that before voting for them based on this 1 issue.

Helpfully putting the gender wars into context and educating a specific brand of mumsnet feminists into just quite how MARGINAL they are becoming?

Glad I could help

Who are the lying toads? What are they lying about?

Lying toads =tories

In the same way that tories have fanned and exploited the racism in red wall seats to gain votes

They exploit gender critical women on mumsnet. They try to convince that only tories will agree with you, thay the left are dangerous. Tories meanwhile are robbing you while you are watching their show....

Stars71 · 23/10/2022 17:13

Meanwhile, Labour play at being diverse. They are excellent, though, at being divisive.

Wow this got old fast, and I have seen it deconstructed several times this weekend. It is an open goal....

Non of them remotely feminist
The last did more damage in 5 minutes to the majority of women, mothers and therefore their kids, than any male PM in my lifetime.

Tories aren’t on the side of women
Labour aren’t on the side of women
Lib Dem’s aren’t on the side of women
Greens aren’t on the side of women.

So, as a GC feminist with two very young children in England… just who am I supposed to vote for?

Ditto this for Scotland because it definitely isn't faux feminist Sturgeon and the SNPlonkers. We're fucked.

SuspiciousHedgehog · 23/10/2022 17:20

Most people vote in their own economic interests, since the extent to which a government can legislate culture is limited. They can effect economics very quickly, though.

There are no thought police.

The party that has other policies that work for you. Just stop being a single issue voter.

If the matter of gender critical women turning away from Labour is so niche and minor, then be content to go about your day knowing it is of no relevance to political direction, let alone the outcome of the next election. Why pop a vein about it all because people are discussing things you believe to be so marginal and take up so much space telling them to be quiet?

FourTeaFallOut · 23/10/2022 17:30

Women's rights, safe guarding, biology, truth and free speech in all the institutions in our society is not a single issue, is it?

Where have I said anything like be quiet?

On the contrary, I enjoy watching the spin unfold when I pull on the snags

This isn't about the women, or the children it's about the tories, and the greatest offence arose when I called tories lying toads.

PP is correct, single issue politics is extremely regressive. The hoity toity hot air blasted around the issue is mostly word salad and hyperbole. Politics and voting is much more complex, and day to day survival will always trump a limited ideology for most

ChristinaXYZ · 23/10/2022 17:36

"Over 100 Tory MPs voted against a buffer zone on abortion clinics. They know we're adult human females, who can get pregnant, and they vote to allow us to be harassed because of that."

This is a really disingenuous level of political argument.

That some Torys voted against buffer zones - true

That that vote should be interpreted as 'against women' as though those MPs got up in the morning and thought "what can I do against women today in the HoC - I know I'll vote against buffer zones" is preposterous. For the hard of thinking - not true.

"they voted to allow us to be harrassed" - that might be a consequence. All votes have consequences. But the MPs are not getting up in the morning to vote to harrass women. That just is not true - they are voting 'for' something else. Just because you don't agree does not mean that you can make stuff up about their motivations.

You must know damn well that some of them for religious reasons (not just men and not Christians) could not vote for anything pro-abortion but they don't do it because they don't like women. They would see it as 'for' something else.

Other will have voted against it because they support free-speech and many of those will vote against other issues that have curbing free-speech elements in them too.

I am very much for abortion being legal. I am for the buffer zones but I can see the arguments even if I don't agree with them. The Torys are no more against women than any other party. Stop making stuff up.

Labour has nothing to offer women if they don't know any more who the women are and how their biology affects their lives. Nothing at all.

Some Tory MPs are liars. All but about 4 Labour MPs are. Because they all know what a women is but pretend not to. And you think the Tories are the immoral ones??? Hilarious.

If you can't bring yourself to vote Tory for women's rights then join the SDP - they need all the help they can get to put candidates up at the next election.

But if Labour get in then all women will be harrassed - when they bring in self-id. They are doing that deliberately. They have knowingly taken on board an ideology that requires them to make women second class citizens and they celebrate that. They know more and more of the safe-guards for women and children that are being messed about but they still want to do it!! Labour must truly loath women.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 23/10/2022 17:37

Defending women’s rights are “hoity toity” and “hyperbole”

glad to know that’s what Labour think

SuspiciousHedgehog · 23/10/2022 17:37

FourTeaFallOut · 23/10/2022 17:30

Women's politics is entirely possible and has been for generations, independent of tory toads. Once tories get bored of this issue it will continue to be debated among the left. You are deluded if you think it's not debated on the left, it's just not a show like the tories put on.

Blossomtoes · 23/10/2022 17:37

day to day survival will always trump a limited ideology for most

This x 💯. If you can’t feed your kids or heat your home that’s all you care about and that’s what you’ll base your vote on. The inability of some people to see beyond their ivory tower is astounding.

Are you a 2 dimensional teabag?

I don't represent the Labour party. I might represent some Labour voters.

As in the title, Tories don't care about women

Thanks to the OP for the observation

How exactly are you educating anyone? All you’re doing is ranting at “everyone in the lying toad corner” no one has any idea what you’re trying to do, it’s incoherent ramblings without any clue of what you’re trying to achieve or how you’re going to do it.

Don't you think women who are concerned about their sex based rights and the erosion of safeguarding for children, are able to look at the political parties and see which ones may represent some of their interests, and those who definitely will not? Is it only you that can see the truth. And others need you to explain it to them?

You're not doing a very good job of it. Labour supporters rarely do, so blinded by their own self righteousness.

Ah yes, forget about women's rights, vote for the party you know will completely destroy them. Much more important things to worry about ladies.

I'm not writing a production for your benefit.

Anyone who can detect the absolute ridiculousness of those in this thread, who disagree with it's title, will be able to follow me, and or find their own way out of the maze of lies and madness.

I would like to see the new cabinet dress for Alice in Wonderland for Halloween. Only fitting, and the only response left is to mock.

I'm sorry you feel mocked. Please try to consider the consequences of your voting on the vast majority of women and children and I will stop, promise.

No don't stop. Keep going. Your word salad and rage is hilarious. Just the average labour voters position. Keir would be so proud of you.
